Got my first RA mastery in a while - John Adventure for the Watara Supervision. It is essentially a poor man's Dr. Mario for a poor man's Game Boy. LOL. It wasn't a bad set (no marathon achievements, yay!), nor a bad game. I did lose an input or two on Level 20, but otherwise not bad.

It's been a while. I am OK. I had con preparation for Tsubasacon, the con itself, con depression (which sucks for everybody!), and some family things going on. Hope to get back playing on RA here and there. 😀

Over 3 hours of many genres of music. Usually the first 10 songs are slower, calmer songs. The atmosphere then builds to the last 10, which are meant to amp you up.

I am somebody who listens to all kinds of music. This one hour playlist I will use on the bus has a lot of 70s, 80s, and 90s music. There are even a few curve balls for your ears!

Every year, I make playlists to listen to before Tsubasacon. Originally, they were to prepare for arcade play, but I have changed them to generic.

Attached are the covers I made for each day. (Day 0 is for the bus ride to the hotel from home). They all have arcade themes. It is a hint to my past. 😀

Only 2 of the bullies came. I spoke to the 1 that was the ringleader. I said to him how good he performed. I got a nod and a quiet "Yes". I forgave him by doing that. I learned that he does this to all. Why I didn't catch that, IDK. Good enough for me.

At least this time I got the last word. 🙂

1 hr. ago I finished Karaoke Test Performance #1 next door to prepare for Tsubasacon. I beat the demons that aggravated me for 2 yrs. The first song was OK. The song was just out of my reach but not by much.

Song #2 was the best. I was happy. Everybody loved it. That song suited me better.

Con Tip #4:

GAMER EDITION!

If you're practicing rhythm games for the arcade, here's a tip from my personal experience:

If you're stuck on harder difficulty/song(s), improve scores on easier songs first. By improving on easier songs, your main skills get better!

Con Tip #3:

Don't be afraid to try something new!

At Tsubasacon, you might see things to do that are different and/or odd compared to anywhere else. Don't be afraid to try new things. Don't be afraid to beat your stage fight. Don't be afraid to learn about a new hobby. You only live once.

Con Tip #2:

Is Charleston, WV safe?

As someone who has lived close and worked in the city all my life, I can tell you will be OK!

Don't forget:

Watch your 6. There are addicts that will pose as homeless. Ignore them!

Don't go down alleys or dark places alone.

If possible, stick w/ a group.

I will try (keyword: try) to give some tips for those going to Tsubascon. I will do three separate posts to kickstart things!

Tsubasacon Tip:

Do NOT try to squeeze in the whole schedule in 3 days. Pick the events that you will enjoy the most. But also save room for surprise things too!

On RA, the MSX Playjam will start in less than two weeks. Out of all of the sets being developed for it, here are my top 5 I want to play (no order):

Dr. Hello (Yes...a MSX homebrew of Dr. Mario)

When I go I'll be ready. I'm not intimidated. I stand by my songs! I am singing what my me happy and I hope makes others happy, in a world where there isn't a lot of happiness right now. I am singing what I want! My songs are my identity!

It affected me a lot. It took a lot of emotional growth (and practice) to get back on stage. When the chance arose last year, I wanted it to be my redemption. I can't say enough about how caring people are at Tsu. They are like a second family. They cheer for all!

2 years ago, I went for the first time. I ended up being not prepared. That actually wasn't the issue. See, there were four men in their 20s. who didn't like my choices for both songs. They like the rowdy country stuff and got onto people that didn't perform it.

Next Thursday, I will be next door at a bar and grill (FYI: I don't drink!) for karaoke. This will be my first "dress rehearsal". Doing karaoke at Tsu isn't new. Last year, I did "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen at maid karaoke. However, this place I am going to is a whole different animal...

(Heads up. This might be a multi post!)

It is 3 weeks to Tsubasacon. It's like being a kid and waiting on Christmas. I am in the middle of arcade practice (to be more zen about it) AND Karaoke practice. I'm not the greatest singer, but I am improving. I won't reveal the songs. They're a surprise!

Add another 8 to the taiko pile. I just completed asteroid on hard!

Con Is only 27 days away. So I have been practicing Taiko. I just got new drum sticks from Amazon. I just got 149-12-0 on Online the III on Normal, 18 ok better than my PB on a song I play every session. Wow!

If Spike lee thought it was the shoes for MJ Maybe it's the drumsticks for me LOL

Finally got the beaten medal on RetroAchievements for Outrun 2006 by getting an A on Holly's Heart Attack challenges. Yay!

This has been a fun game to revisit. I bought the PS2 game when it came out originally.

Thanks to the set developers for their hard work. It definitely made the set special.😀

I have been busy. My uncle is sick, but the news looks more promising by the day.

It is a little over 30 days to Tsubasacon. I cannot wait to go back - this will be my 6th. Training of games and karaoke rehearsal cont.

I changed my sign. It says, "It's Show Time". The con is getting closer (about a month and a half from now). I started karaoke practice this past week. I am not the greatest singer, but I find it fun. The sign is a sign that it is time to tighten up now to be able to cut loose at con.

Got a Taiko update:

I just beat my first Oni (Extreme) song on Taiko. I am not a Frozen fan, but it was Let It Go (English ver.). It is only a 4, but let's just say without building a watch that the difficulty and rating system in Taiko is complicated. 😵‍💫

Plus Hard and Oni = Tighter timing windows.

It took 30 years but I finally beat Genesis Sonic 1!!! LOL.

It's not that I couldn't do it. I just dreaded Labyrinth / Scrap Brain Zone. It's just getting into the mood to do it. Played on Sonic Mega Collection Plus on RA. I almost broke down in tears. This was the one that got away. Until now. 🏆
