I want a workout music app that shuffles songs from a playlist but then plays Tanz Mit Laibach between each track.

Utah Saints yesterday. Praga Khan today. Something about mid-90s house is just hitting that endorphin spot I need right now.

Caustic's kickstarter for the 2 part album FIEND is live. Few artists I can think of put more of themselves into their music.

Watching the final Front 242 live show stream over the weekend (which is still available to watch), it was an interesting bit of culture shock to hear the Belgian audience chant "Zwei Vier Zwei!" instead of "Two Four Two!" My english prejudice is showing.

Out today: ReGen Magazine's tribute to Die Warzau. All proceeds go to Advocates 4 Transgender Equality. I wasn't directly involved in its production or organization of the comp, but I'm still proud of Ilker YΓΌcel's work and to be part of ReGen's staff.

The new Soft Vein is out today and is in my review queue behind the latest Ulver album. Instead of having attention grabbing banger club singles, it's more the sort of album you just sink into and periodically you find yourself going "god damn this is good".

Never change, Laibach.... never change.

... and my last review of the year which I hadn't planned on writing. Was hard not to personalize this one more.

The song "Veil of Lies" propelled Ductape's Echo Drama into my best-of-year selections. I'm an 80s kid and the synth and vocal hooks here are just a total Ratatouille moment for me.

I used a Spotify link instead of a Bandcamp link for the album because the label, Century Media, DIDN'T have a Bandcamp page for ages, but looks like they finally caved.

I'm assembling my votes for @regenmag.bsky.social's best-of-year list. It may not make ReGen's cut, but I think my own personal "album of the year" is Tribulation's Sub Rosa In Γternum. Watching this band's evolution from death metal to goth has been kinda crazy.

Flood was definitely a huge highlight. I found the line "I get so scared of being alone and yet, itβs all weβll ever be." particularly piercing.

Morning workout listen: Nox Novacula on #ArtoffactRecords. Great authentic female fronted gothic death rock that sounds like it came from the late 80s or early 90s, but just relased in August. Heavy Eva O vibes. Great stuff.
