We were in a part of Fayetteville that has been in FOUR different Congressional districts since my opponent was elected. That's a no-good way to run what's supposed to be a representative democracy. The LEAST we can do as candidates is show up and answer questions. 🇺🇸

• A farmer worried about GenX contamination found on his land.
• A retiree who feels that the tax code is too biased toward the ultra-wealthy.
• A dedicated community organizer wanting to know what Congress can do to help counties in supporting our homeless neighbors.

But that's also only the cost in money. It doesn't measure the pain experienced by millions of people who won't be able to see a doctor. Who work hard every day but will go hungry because they aren't paid enough.

As an educator, I firmly believe in the promise of public education - that’s why I am running to fight for full funding of our public schools. Students, parents, and teachers in Southeastern NC deserve the resources they need to fulfill that promise.

Looking at just southeastern North Carolina school districts, the sudden budget gaps to fill are:

Bladen: $1 million
Brunswick: $1.2 million
Columbus: $586,553
Cumberland: $4.2 million
New Hanover: $1.6 million
Pender: $1.1 million
Robeson: $3.2 million
Sampson: $1 million
Whiteville City: $694,626

This is so ridiculous. This is $14 million that schools in SE NC were supposed to receive days ago, money that was already voted on, approved, and ready to help EVERY child get a stronger start. 🧵

Floods turned beloved Texas camp into a nightmare. At least 27 girls remain missing Texas parents are frantically posting photos of their daughters and pleas for information as at least 27 campers from an all-girls summer camp remain missing after floods tore through the state’s sout...

This is so tragic. I'm praying for these girls, their families, and everyone impacted by the horrific flooding in Texas. With Tropical Storm Chantal already in much of our area, please pay attention to official weather warnings and stay safe.
