A black, glossy stag beetle with mandibles of a curved ribbon. It faces against various, larger figurines of rhinoceros and stag beetles. The beetle figurines are arranged in a semicircle like a council.

He’s doing a threat display (vibrating) against the figures lmaooo

Seen at Strumpshaw Fen in Norfolk in June a few years ago.

Lesser Stag Beetle, Dorcus parallelipipedus. A large beetle up to about 30mm in length. Seen in the UK in woodlands in the summer time. #beetles

Two large, white scarab beetles on my hand: the one, as long as the base of my hand to the first segment of the thumb, has little two-pronged horns, a white pronotum with bold black stripes, and white elytra with a bold red mark on each elytron,dotted with white spots. A slightly smaller female, has a predominantly black pronotum and less red marking.

These gorgeous Goliath beetles came in!
These are freakishly strong and active insects. The male is probably only 64mm, and it has left scars on my arm just running around, something even the largest stag beetles can’t do. Please prosper my scarabs
