That’s how I feel about using credit cards.

I do have it set up in VS Code using the LaTeX Workshop extension, and it works pretty well. I added a few lines to my settings.json for minor customization, but nothing essential.

(Though I prefer using Texifier while I am writing since I like seeing the preview without typesetting each time.)

While it didn't matter much for us, we revised the comparative statics to be precise, even though the equations lost their elegance. 😅 I can also see how significant it can be in some cases.

I learned exact-hat algebra from a blog post by Jonathan Dingel. I was trying to figure out why one of our counterfactuals (using approximate hat changes) always resulted in a 0 change. We repeated the comparative statics using exact-hat algebra and obtained a very small but nonzero change.

If anyone is planning to submit something on research quality, researcher decision-making, replication, or related topics to WEAI 2024, let me know and maybe we can put a session together. Planning to present results from the Many-Economists project (a large many-analysts project).
