Labour might be able to reverse some of their unpopularity if they put water into public ownership, and stopped stealth privatisation of the NHS. But as with so many things, they lack both the vision and principle to even consider it.

π‘This must be stopped!
Labour's 2024 manifesto promised our NHS would always be "publicly owned and publicly funded".
Now they are talking about reintroducing PFI into our NHS.
PFI would set a ticking time bomb under our NHS that will blow up in patients' faces - ACT NOW.

21.09.2025 05:55 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesnβt like.

The government has published its explanation of the Β£100 billion estimate for nationalising English water
There are many reasons why we wouldn't have to pay that much but EVEN IF WE DID, Greenwich University research shows it would be a good deal πππ

Water is a natural monopoly and they just increased our bills by 35%!
PUBLIC OWNERSHIP would save Β£3-5 billion a year - that money could reduce bills and/or clean up our rivers

Some people are justifying the murder of Charlie Kirk because he said things they don't agree with. "Well he was a big fan of guns so I guess he deserved it" - No. Nobody should be killed for their opinions. Not even the cunts who are of the opinion he deserved it.

Guess this absolute gem got buried by the subsequent farage stuff.
Just embarrassing, never had much hope about this government but expected some basic competence.
You're welcome

Reliable surrogates of the party leadership posted online graphics of Mr Farage, with the caption that his party βwould scrap laws keeping children safe onlineβ. Mr Kyle himself posted: βIf you want to overturn the Online Safety Act, you are on the side of predators. It is as simple as that.β The Telegraph has established that the ministerβs attack linking Mr Farage to Savile was not a slip of the tongue, but a line cleared in advance by Downing Street and given to Mr Kyle for the morning round of broadcast interviews.

Screenshot of local election results so far from BBC
So far, these local election results are as predictably bad for the Labour Govt as everyone assumed.
I also predict they'll take all the wrong lessons from this, and hand the UK over to Reform at the next general election.
It feels grimly pre-determined at this point.

All 8 episodes of series 2 of Call Jonathan Pie are now available on BBC Sounds.
Just in time for the bank holiday weekend!
Just listened to the Identity Crisis episode on headphones, and almost certainly looked like a total weirdo laughing out loud in public!
Looking forward to the final two parts.
