Is this a common mistranslation thing?

I care very much about getting invested into character stories/narratives and don't think becomming overpowered usually detracts from that unlike say skipping most npcs or dialogue in story games. I also think rushing through most games is a detriment to experiencing them but that's just how I roll

Honestly this is so interesting and I'm someone who likes both things, but seeing Itoi who is more of a writer than a game designer have this perspective honestly makes a lot of sense

Unpopular opinion, but a lot of this "doing it right" mentality is how we wind up with games all feeling the exact same.

Difficulty spikes, weird controls, ropey onboarding all of it critical to prevent games feeling like they're ground down and pumped out safe mush.
