Two more of the over sized Napoleonic battles by Hourtoulle. They may be big but they are beautiful with amazing illustrations inside. ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท #histbookchat

Not a drum was heard, not a funeral note,
As his corse to the rampart we hurried;
Not a soldier discharged his farewell shot
O'er the grave where our hero we buried.

I always look at the next most recent poll by the same organisation to iron out polling differences. But it certainly goes against thge general trend in what must be one of the best Green target blocks in the country.

You know youโ€™re getting a little too into the 18th century Habsburg when you start to buy books on Maria Theresiaโ€™s government and economic policy! But I really do want to know how you finance a war against Frederick the Great (especially once the UK is no longer on side). ๐Ÿ“š #histbookchat

The minuses are not necessarily goig directly to the pluses. So, for example, a Green voter may go into the Labour camp, and one pop out of it into Reform. This is where they are when the music stops.

Gygax often claimed that Tolkien and his books had just a "superficial" influence on D&D. According to him, such authors as Anderson, Sprague de Camp and Pratt, Leiber, Lovecraft, Merritt, Moorcock, Vance, and Zelazny were used as inspiration more than Tolkien.

"Race to Rabaul 1943" is a forthcoming addition to the "Race to the Rhine" series by PHALANX. Volko Ruhnke made an excellent game where players have to wrestle with the push and pull of logistics in the Pacific theater. The adversarial gameplay is great. #wargaming @volko.bsky.social
