Well-planned, small scale,sustainable, horizontally integrated tourism that has respect for locals at its heart, yeah, not as easy to get organised, but that's the way we should be going.

And let's be real, who gets the lion's share? The cruise companies, the big local tours companies and then our small operators make a little something.
Many people think I'm anti tourism, not so. I just believe tourism can be awful sometimes and cruise tourism is there in the bottom of the barrel.

But for these small islands with our small roads, small beaches, water shortages, it's a high price to pay for the tourism $$ that it brings in.We lose recreational spaces, have insane traffic jams, even less water in our pipes and get the pollution from the ships.

Cruise tourism is just growing and growing. I can understand the attraction for tourists - a relatively affordable way to see, nah, scratch that, be able to say you've been to a bunch of places.
