Here's the guts of it: The White House press group must issue the requisite invitation to the U.S. President as it always does, even if he's working to destroy a free press. But no self-respecting journalist should fill a fucking seat. They should be elsewhere, working, trying to save the republic.

We have lost a decade of our life to an evil idiot…a dolt. A moron. One of the most racist and dumbest humans on the planet.

10 years.

They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a β€œweapon”—HIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.

Part of a larger thread -- I'd add:

- democratic backsliding and "kitchen table" issues are linked; a functioning democracy doesn't have unilateral tariffs and bribes

- Democrats can either hype bipartisanship or correctly identify the Republican threat to democracy; they can't have it both ways

It makes sense if you don’t think about it

Any senior mathematicians who would be willing to take a question in DMs about academic manners?

Ah we have our feeder set to go off when we’re asleep maybe that helps? Otherwise stop giving your cats access to timepieces!

This is the advice we got from a cat behaviorist so we’re speeding the wealth

If you use dry food, I HIGHLY recommend a robotic / automated feeder. Gets you entirely out of the feeding equation. We have a cat who used to bang on the shutters above our bed to wake us up for feeding and the robot stopped it.

discord betrayed you? lol, I wouldn’t know, I’ve been self-hosting an open source voip server for the past fifteen years. it’s super low-latency and has much better chat tools than whatever your precious β€œnitro subscription” gets you. and as soon as I make even one friend,

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

A 2 panel sketch disgram of a 1 meter tall pod. in the second panel, an oval section pops off and a demonic little face with short tentacles flies out, crudely drawn.

My favorite artifact in the "you don't need AI to do art" discourse is, of course, screenwriter Dan O'Bannon's sketch of the facehugger to explain it to Giger.

Clapping my flippers together and honking like a harbor seal when a Super Bowl ad for a condiment or gambling app featuring two celebrities unexpectedly reveals a third celebrity as its punchline. Bouncing a ball around on my snout. My wife has to throw me a herring to get me to calm down.

Let’s be honest: in many of these winter Olympic β€œsports”, the snow is doing most of the work. An unexpected thaw would expose these so-called athletes for the frauds they are

The president constantly lying about stolen elections, after staging a coup attempt, & now threatening to federalize & steal future elections, should be the primary news story in the country 24/7 & on every front page until he is impeached & removed next week.

Accountability for ICE and CBP However bad you think the corruption and misconduct at ICE and CBP is β€” the reality is far far worse.

I testified Friday before Gov. Pritzker's commission studying abuses of ICE and CBP and tried to explain how the agencies went so far off track. It's actually way worse than I ever realized. Please read and share my testimony as Congress considers reform: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/accountabi...

New NHTSA crash data, combined with Tesla’s new disclosure of robotaxi mileage, reveals Tesla’s autonomous vehicles are crashing at a rate much higher than human drivers, and that’s with a safety monitor in every car.

Tesla has reported 9 crashes involving its robotaxi fleet in Austin, TX.

We pushed hard to add basic accountability measures when it comes to ICE, including warrant requirements, body cameras, and limits on excessive force.

We have to get rid of Jeffries and Schumer. We have to. It’s unendurable that these men are the most prominent Democrats of the moment. They are two of the most broadly undistinguished men I could imagine in politics, zero fire, zero fight, zero zeal, machine politicians with sinecures.
