07.10.2025 13:20 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This reminded me- I recently learned that the colors we see at fall are always present- just hidden by the green chlorophyll most of the time. Remember that a kinder and more loving world exists, even now... it's just hidden by the layer that's focused on extracting resources.

Idea: make an anarchist trivia game so ppl can learn about anarchists- and pass on the knowledge by offering ppl a chance to feel smug at a party
07.10.2025 01:39 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Every global problem has many local solutions and power is just a way authoritarians push their will beyond themselves through a network of coordinated individual efforts. But it's just ppl doing stuff.
We're ppl. We can do stuff too.
someone taught me how to mountain bike- "don't look at the rock, the steep dropoff- look where you want to go."
My strategy- connect w complementary partners w a shared vision of where we want to go & focus energy on that
@margaret.bsky.social on Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff also keeps me sane
bullish on the friendships we make along the way
05.10.2025 18:08 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0My strategy is find a side/passion project (that could also lead to a potential future nontraditional job) that is shared by at least one person I know and just take that step by step and see how it goes, adding on ppl and skills as needed
05.10.2025 03:25 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Plus I think when we learn history it's usually jumping in at the time when things either started or changed. Like sometimes it takes a couple generations before a country that goes authoritarian takes the steps necessary to become unauthoritarian again...

Perishability is a key driver of both being generous & getting the full enjoyment of the thing while you have it. Think produce from a garden. You cannot find a stranger you wouldn't give away your zucchini to bc otherwise it's a waste.
Tax the wealthy. Make wealth perishable again.
They say "hell is other people" but I think we are beginning to realize exactly which ones

30.09.2025 02:52 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ppl will legit freak out and wax nostalgic every time you pull out your flip phone tho so know that going in
It's very funny
Just make sure it is a tablet with both wifi and 5G- that way you're always covered to get access to directions (make a great nav screen and magnet covers also prop it up), texting, and rideshare
30.09.2025 02:37 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I've never had a smartphone ๐ it's worked for me and highly recommend the book shaped cover bc it makes it more intentional bc there's a slight but of friction to engage with- have to open the cover on purpose

30.09.2025 02:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Idea: bus + uber
Need: software allows entering specific addresses & quickly combines them into an optimized series of stops for drop offs
Ppl using the app could hail a bus once they reached a group of a minimum size or fit into a currently running bus' dropoff path
Paid by monthly subscription
It's like carrying a notebook if you get a book-like case, so you have the capabilities of a smartphone but it helps break the smartphone habits and norms

30.09.2025 00:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0You can do voip/Google voice numbers on a 5G enabled mini tablet and flip phone for actual calls/portability- best of both worlds imho bc the mini tablet is great for reading e books, working on documents and browsing and the flip phone only needs charging every few days
