I usually avoid YA, but I'm glad I didn't this time. This book was fun, scary, and heartwarming (also, as it turns out, the characters are in their early-mid 20s). It centers queer people in a caring, relatable way that I'm pleasantly finding more and more.

I really want to do an herb garden in my greenhouse. I started with some mint to see how it goes

I used miraclegro top soil, it's cheap, easy to find, and I've had good luck with it.
I'm doing this for the first time, too! I picked plants that were native to my area, and because it's in the backyard, dog safe.

I was deinfluenced when I heard a video of somebody using it. It's mega loud.

I don't know about the pet version, but the diaper genie is pure magic

Open door romance isn't much my jam (I skipped the spice, TBH), but it was worth it for the core of this story, which is healing and heartwarming.
I borrowed this one firstly for the narrator, Julia Whelan, who was won awards, and I definitely see why.

This is the second novel written by Riley Sager that I've read recently, both were a long wait at the library, both were totally worth it.

Since digging into the flower beds all around this house, I have found: English ivy, mint, and bamboo.
Either somebody weaponized their gardening knowledge for some kind of evil, or somebody had no idea what they were playing at.
Either way, I'm glad I only rent here.

This novel carries a supernatural plot, but far more terrifying is the storyline of hatred Asian people received during the pandemic.
The author's note at the conclusion is raw, and heart-wrenching, reminding us all that oppressed groups must stand in solidarity
