I don't think so! And I equally don't see why a truly sentient or "rational" machine intelligence would decide to Kill All Humans. That's a decision humans who hate other humans would make, see also: enslavement. Those are human behaviors rooted in meat-based understandings of reality, not defaults

I don't see a lot of discussion on in this space about what animal cognition can tell us about non-human sentience, but it kind of goes back to my underlying thesis that these things aren't sentient because they're programmed to mimic a type of intelligence they wouldn't organically develop

Even all the pseudo philosophy around AI enlightenment assumes the sentience will adopt human values around power and wealth concentration and I don't think that's true because humans pursue those things for their own perceived material comfort/benefits. wtf is a robot gonna do with a mega yacht?

Idk what a sentient machine will care about (Psalm for the Wild Built is a lovely little short story that tries to answer the question) but their entire framework for sentience will HAVE to be different because machines don't need food and water and oxytocin to maintain physiological equilibrium

I think it might have been you I was talking to but this came up a few months ago about how one of the biggest HUMAN mistakes re: sentience is the mind/body disconnect. Machine sentience won't look like human sentience because we fundamentally can't be disconnected from meat-based sensory experience
