According to the KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation), nearly 40% of our population between the ages of 18 and 64 identifies as Latino women. From STEAM to the arts and entertainment, as well as in sports and politics, Latinas are making significant strides as leaders for California’s future.

This month, we honor and celebrate the Latino communities in California for their resilience and contributions to our culture and traditions.

Today, we pause to remember the survivors, honor the lives lost, and families forever changed, as well as the courage of the first responders and volunteers. May we find the strength and resilience to stand together in unity and hope.

This powerful conference brought together women from diverse sectors to share information and develop practical plans to uplift women.

The lunch keynote speaker was Nina Jankowicz, a disinformation expert and author who wrote a book examining online abuse and disinformation and provided tips for fighting back.

The featured speaker was Dr. Caroline Heldman, Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies Program Chair at Occidental College, who spoke about Gender and Politics on the Road to the White House.

Totten was featured on a panel along with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties CEO, Krista Hollinger, MPH, physician and menopause expert, Dr. Deepti Gandhi MD MSCP, and Human Options, Inc. Board President, Gabriella Blanchard.

Thank you Global Ties Sacramento for introducing us to the International Visitor Leadership Program women representatives from Belize, Chile, Democratic Republic of Congo, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic, and the Republic of Korea.

We heard from great speakers including Senator Marie Alvarado Gil and Asm. Cecilia Aguiar Curry. Both trailblazing women shared their personal and professionals’ journeys, highlighting the challenges and wins they have experienced as women in politics.

We had such a great time at the @she_shares Conversation Series panel on Wednesday, August 20, moderated by the Honorable Catherine Baker.

The California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls is celebrating 60 years of promoting equality and justice for more than 19.6 million women and girls in one of the most diverse states in the country.

Black Women Won’t Reach Pay Equity Until 2227 - IWPR

The pace at which the wage gap is closing is alarming. Black women won't see pay equity until 2227. Several factors contribute to this disparity, including job segregation, where women are overrepresented in low-wage positions with limited opportunities for advancement.
