Octopath Traveler 0 is where the series finally clicked for me This is so much better than I expected from a repurposed mobile game.

I’ve had trouble getting into the Octopath Traveler series but 0 is where it finally clicked for me.
While not without its issues (these games are *way* too long), I love how everything in 0 is rooted in community.
My GOAT Live A Live still does the “short story” approach best, but I really like 0.

Thanks!! Yeah, ideally I wouldn’t have to travel for it, but this is the closest city and I have a friend there at least.

What timing that the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora — From the Ashes embargo lifted during the insane Netflix news.
Anyway, I’m not an Avatar guy but visiting James Cameron’s Lightstorm was an absolutely unreal experience I’m still pinching myself about.

The game really is at its best when you're in the more curated dungeon-like stages. It feels like classic Prime here. The highlight for me is the Ice Belt, which leans into the Alien-esque survival horror vibes more than ever. I just wish we got more of that instead of the open-world bloat!

My biggest issue is the Sol Valley hub area. While the Vi-O-La bike is real smooth, the quasi-open-world you drive it in is just so empty. It's the bloat trap that so many games, including even Mario Kart World, keep falling into. And I REALLY wish the game would stop spelling things out for you!

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond -- Samus returns in a solid, if sometimes frustrating, adventure The iconic Nintendo series is in good form after all these years, although issues with pacing and excessive handholding arise.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is good!
At times, it feels safe in a Force Awakens way, and in others, it has issues with pacing & handholding.
But on the whole, it has the satisfying blend of atmospheric exploration, intriguing sci-fi worldbuilding & snappy gunplay you want.
