Pastblast: At long last, the hot summer days are giving way to more pleasant temps. What better way to celebrate than by cleaning the summer goodies out of the freezer?! "Ice Cream Dreams" was a watercolor/gouache painting from 2018 with Marsha taking advantage of the need to clear out leftovers.

Sketchtime: Cindy from "Faux Pas" is ready to play!

And there's plenty of recipes for "Farina Pudding" out there.
I haven't tried all these, but I have made the Galatoboureko, which went over well at a Greek-themed SCA dinner once upon a time.

A few thoughts from your nutty neighborhood recipe collector (all desserts):
"Galatoboureko" - sorta like Baklava, but instead of honey and nuts between the Phyllo dough, there's a layer of custardy farina.
"Revani" - a cake, similar to Galatoboureko but without the Phyllo.

Pastblast from our 2019 Faux Pas calendar: Dusk wanders off into the twilight, leaving behind a pair of admirers (Danny and Greg) and her moral compass (Fluffy).

Pastblast: running this one right now just wishing for some cooler temps.... This is a painting used in our 2014 Route 66 calendar with Marsha and BJ visiting a well-publicized cave, way cooler on the inside in more ways than one.

Sketchtime: Rough sketch for an idea we've tossed back and forth for a few decades: What if a primitive canid guard on the perimeter of his encampment suddenly saw a large, strange vessel dropping out of the clouds?
May turn into an actual painting someday.

Pastblast from 2010: "Little Nuzzles," a small acrylic wildlife painting, featuring a pair of fennecs enjoying some quiet cuddles.

Pastblast: Sharing a popular piece from back in the day: "The Thistle" from 2003 featured a Scottish wolf and his lady sharing a romantic moment by the shores of a Highland loch. This painting was done in gouache and the prints did pretty well at convention art shows.

Pastblast: One of our prints from Way Back When: Randy treats Cindy to a classic county fair confection, and enjoys the sight of her happily trying to navigate the sugary fluffiness.

Absolutely marvelous!

These were indeed done in the 1980's and were done by a Disney animator who had fun drawing random stuff for his friends while off the clock.

Pastblast from 2011: "Dance in Blue Veils," a watercolor piece of Marsha showing off her belly-dancing chops. This was a print which proved very popular at the time at a number of conventions.

Really sorry to hear this. She was great to hang out with.

Pastblast: A fan-favorite small painting in watercolor from 2008: "Dusk: A Study" featuring Dusk being her usual self-assured self.

Wish I knew which stream it was! It's fun when our artwork unexpectedly shows up in the background of a photo!

Pastblast: Re-sharing this one from awhile back: "Dragon's Flagon" was an acrylic painting inspired by tavern signs from days of yore. This was done in 2006, and made for a popular print at convention art shows.

Pastblast: July tends to be a celebratory month around here, so for this week's Pastblast we're sharing finished artwork from our 2020 calendar titled "You Take The Cake!" with Myrtle being a little clumsy while delivering the birthday confection.

Sketchtime: Based on a rough from my stack of random ideas, I decided to clean up this sketch of Marsha at a RenFaire taking on an enthusiastic young "musketeer."

Pastblast: A bit of wildlife art we shared a long time ago: a fox kit showing off his den near a golf course, located where it is because of the toys that humans continually provide!

"Out Of Play" was an early wildlife painting from around 2003, done in watercolor.

Pastblast: Something we did for our Patreon supporters a number of years back: Marsha posing with a soccer ball. How good she is at this sport has never been determined, though a later piece of art shows her kicking a winning goal so she must be all right.

Pastblast: From our 2019 calendar: Randy returns with the proper implements for serving ice cream, but Cindy has her own methods for enjoying tasty treats!

A reminder: cartoon foxes are not endangered by eating cartoon ice cream, even when it has chocolate in it....

Pastblast: A small acrylic painting from 2012: "Shetland Spirit," a Shetland sheepdog (aka Sheltie or miniature collie) staying quietly alert near one of the ancient stone circles found on many of Scotland's northern isles.

Pastblast: A gouache painting of a romantic couple that we did back in 2008. Not sure what we called this piece, and I can see a lot of areas for improvement if I were to do it over - but hey, it's all a learning process!

Pastblast: Marsha takes a trip to the beach to enjoy the sun, waves, and whatever pretty shells she may find along the way.
From 2018, "Sounds of the Sea" was done as an animation-style cel with Marsha painted on a piece of clear acetate, while the background was a separate watercolor painting.

"Fennecs By Lamplight" was a watercolor painting completed in 2006 which became a popular convention print.

Pastblast: "Drama Queen." An image from our 2010 Faux Pas calendar, showing that Dusk knows how to milk a situation for all it's worth.
