Could we get presidential training in the use of paper straws? Trump says they don't work.

05.02.2025 03:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've been told that it is better to ask a child "Tell me about your picture" instead of trying to guess what it is. My 4 year old niece, Sarah drew this. She said, "Yellow is yellow. Red is fire. Blue is the ocean and the green is the grass. AND THE WHOLE THING IS A STINKY SOCK."

Waiting in line at the convention center to get race packets. We're in line but happy because we are in Hawaii.
Finding out how to navigate the lines.

19.01.2025 20:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exciting first day (night) in Waikiki! Navigated while Nancy drove our rental car to Romer House Waikiki. Seeing plams and banyan trees and homeless encampments ( sad) out the window. Learned that the only way to park at the hotel was with a valet $ervice. Meewon and Tina showed up on a shuttle bus. We were 3 blocks from the beach but a lot longer to get there. The international market (an indoor outdoor mall) is at the end of this street, but on the other side of the market are large hotels. We navigated around the hotels to take a walk on the beach at night. Warm, warm, warm!
Fun to wake up in Hawaii! First day goal--get to the convention center to get our race packets for the Start to Park 10K that happens at the same time as the Honolulu Marathon.
Here we are walking along the canal on Ala Wai Blvd.
Wow! A new bird! Nancy took this picture of this mini pigeon on the side of the road. Turns out it is a Zebra dove. It is "native to Southeast Asia, and has been introduced in the 1920s into Hawaii. Since then, it has become the most widespread species on the main Hawaiian islands."
Describing my first day in Hawaii. Bluesky allows only 4 pictures.
