My trans patients don’t transition as a political statement. Their care is about treating them with compassion like any other individual. They are resilient, and if they have the capacity for joy with the world as it is, I should too! And if they aren’t, I try to leave them feeling more hopeful.

This made a lot of sense to me - many companies sell our attention for small amounts of money with great costs to ourselves personally, spending the limited resource which is our attention. And that the attention economy selects for whatever is most reactionary.
