A museum filled with speakers humming loss.
Fourteen years later, I’m still trying to decode what I made.

It’s not a remix.
It’s a séance.
A corrupted reel looped on a dying machine.
A prayer wrapped in magnetic tape and mother issues.

The cat?
She wasn’t supposed to be in it.
But there she was.
Cleaning herself in the ruins of someone else’s story.
She became the stand-in for grace.
For instinct.
For survival.

Scarlett.
Michael.
Two protagonists built on denial, delusion, and dynasty.
I saw myself in both.
And maybe in the quiet scenes in between.
The ones that never made the trailer.

2011.
An MFA thesis stitched from celluloid ghosts.
I took The Godfather and Gone With the Wind—
two American power fantasies—
and cut them open.
Not to mock them.
To mourn what they left behind.
