I'm working on a postcard for this coming Thursday's #kidlitartpostcard day. I've been thinking for a while I might enjoy and be good at children's illustration. I've been putting together a portfolio of work toward this goal. It's scary trying new things but you don't know unless you try right?

I was just waiting for a GO train in Oakville to head home from visiting family and a BALD EAGLE FLEW OVER THE STATION! I am very excited about this unexpected observation. Always keep your eyes peeled. Wish I'd had binoculars on me.

Thank you! I probably should have specified I meant herbaceous plants. I'm in Southern Ontario in the Carolinian zone so we don't have as many all year round green conifers as farther north. I'm also in a city so it's rather grey here without our gardens and leafy ravines.

It has felt like a long winter and I'm looking forward to seeing plants again! Canada Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) is one of my favourites. It's such a unique spring bloom. I painted it in watercolours & gouache, using a plant from my Gran's garden as reference. #sciart #springflowers #natureart

A few of my favourite dog portraits. I have been a rabbit person for a long time and have been a caregiver to 5 rescue bunnies over the years. But I love all animals and enjoy drawing them. All of these paintings were done in watercolours and gouache on paper.

I read A Psalm for the Wild Built recently by Beck Chambers and it was so lovely. It was gentle and heartwarming and what I needed.
