01.03.2026 00:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm working on a postcard for this coming Thursday's #kidlitartpostcard day. I've been thinking for a while I might enjoy and be good at children's illustration. I've been putting together a portfolio of work toward this goal. It's scary trying new things but you don't know unless you try right?

26.02.2026 15:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you! I probably should have specified I meant herbaceous plants. I'm in Southern Ontario in the Carolinian zone so we don't have as many all year round green conifers as farther north. I'm also in a city so it's rather grey here without our gardens and leafy ravines.
24.02.2026 22:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A colorful poster illustration featuring 15 species of animals from the Cambrian period 541-485 million years ago. These are mostly unusual looking invertebrates, such as Hurdia, Wiwaxia, Anomalocaris, Peytoia, trilobites, Marrella, Nectocaris, Hallucigenia, Opabinia, Plectronoceras, Lyrarapax, and Naraoia. An early chordate (Pikaia) is also included. The animals are brightly colored on a dark black background. White numbers with a key label each species.
Creatures of the Cambrian period!

It has felt like a long winter and I'm looking forward to seeing plants again! Canada Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) is one of my favourites. It's such a unique spring bloom. I painted it in watercolours & gouache, using a plant from my Gran's garden as reference. #sciart #springflowers #natureart

I really enjoy baking bread and then eating fresh bread. It's become so expensive from the store too so it's a good hobby to get into. Here are some recent loaves. #bread

17.02.2026 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A chunky oil pastel painting of a long worm-like dragon in pinks and purples and very light blues, wrapped around a rocky island with a few pine trees, and some blue crystals underneath, floating in lime green water against a cobalt blue sky.
Finished this charmer in oil pastels and got him fully matted and framed! Gonna take him to the Danforth Arts Market this week, if you're in Toronto and looking for a fancy dragon for your wall.

A watercolour and gouache sketch I made of an alleyway in my neighborhood covered in snow. I'm trying to be less over planned in my painting and make simplified images.

A few of my favourite dog portraits. I have been a rabbit person for a long time and have been a caregiver to 5 rescue bunnies over the years. But I love all animals and enjoy drawing them. All of these paintings were done in watercolours and gouache on paper.

13.02.2026 13:38 β π 136 π 47 π¬ 4 π 1The cover for WE'RE HERE 2024. An illustration (in watercolor) of an earth-toned wild hunt tapestry with muted rainbow-y accents. The lead figure is a brown-skinned elf man with long hair and an antler like crown. He has top surgery scars and wears rainbow-fringed hose with thigh high boots. He rides a massive white elk. Other figures include a tan skinned falconer, a chubby darker skinned femme archer with a fro, a knight riding a unicorn with her girlfriend riding behind her, a faun with a pan flute, a shirtless bald person with fantastic eyebrows and long nails blowing a horn, and four fey looking hounds. There is also a rainbow pastel jackalope and three rainbow pastel ravens that seem to also be members of the hunting party. The foreground is made up of Millefleur style depictions of pansies, green carnations, lavender and roses.
Very happy to share that my wild hunt tapestry painting for the We're Here 2024 ( @neonhemlock.bsky.social ) cover has made it into Infected By Art Vol.14!
