Sonic is interesting huh? Since day 1 this franchise has struggled to balance serious and humorous, between SATAM and AOSTH.

I really wonder if there ever will be a balance found in these fandom debates.

We behold the interior of the Siren Saloon. The back of the ship has been retrofitted into a stage, with large windows shining the golden morning light into the interior. Some of the sunlight reflects off the stage curtains, and the tables closest to it. Several tables have been nailed to the walls of the bar up to the ceiling. Besides these tables is the actual bar area. A cavity in the ship interior which houses various bottles of alcohol and other sorts. The bar faces a counter of coral, which itself faces two lilypad seats. Above the bar is a large ornate shell, decorated with letters that say, “Bar.” Above the bar is a large grate that leads to the upper deck, repurposed by the merfolk into a skylight. Attached to the grate is a lantern that houses a jellyfish. Several of these types of lanterns are scattered about with jellyfish inside. They are meant for lights, but in the morning, they are inactive as even flame lanterns. There is a large mast that has pierced the interior of the vessel, having been repusposed in some ways, but left alone in others. It is growing noticeable amounts of moss on its wood. Shadowed to the front of the vessel is an alcove with a sign below it that reads, “Kitchen.” Narrator: “Lucy Styles’ Siren Saloon. The heart of this town and all of its denizens. Many adventures start and end in this tavern. I personally recommend trying the Damselfish Draught.” Lucy smiles at the sight of her bar. “Aah… I never get tired of this view.” A voice calls to her from offscreen. “Good morning Lucy!” Lucy looks towards the new figure and smiles. We see a bit of the new figure’s fin. “Ah! There’s my favorite gal!”

Agreed. Seeing them just young and hanging out together in "comradery" has been the coolest thing of this flashback.

This panel right here is the one I just couldn't get enough of. We really don't see a lot of panels of these big characters just hanging around side by side unless they are giants.

And taken from Dragon's POV. It's arguably my favorite One Piece panel in years.

Character development is so cool.

Our first page properly introducing Lucy Styles as she looks up to her place of establishment, the Siren Saloon. The Saloon is a sunken barge in the middle of the ocean, with an extension in the middle of the ship that acts as a front entrance hall. She is introduced with the title: Lucy Styles. Eel Mermaid. Siren Saloon Owner. Lucy: “Good morning Siren Saloon! You’re looking lovely today!” Suddenly, Lucy is thrown off by the sounds of a large crash coming from the Saloon. A voice is heard from inside the saloon screaming loudly. ?: “Mother of god!! They can’t all be gone!!” Lucy sighs to herself. Lucy: “And the day begins...”

Yeah, that's my reason for not looking at the red line. The blue line I can at least hope 75% of total viewers aren't bots.

Oh wow, that is some beautiful vintage airbrushed art. I've never seen that before, but it just immediately takes me back to the 90s.
