As someone who was on the other side of this (lacking attention to anything after years of neglect) I started to read consistently this year and it's made me much happier and I never want to go back.

Yeah I didn't vibe with the first one either but there's a bunch of things around it that would make me surprised if it wasn't at this point.

But there's going to be a few snubs so we'll see how that goes 😂 it's actually nice in some ways that we expect snubs.

DS2 was one I wasn't accounting for before it was released but when I saw it's average review jumped by more than 10 points compared to DS1.

It kinda made me go, okay it's probably going to get nominated. That sort of thing probably matters.

I think you're right tbh, I haven't played Yotei or Silent Hill F but my impression is they seem great but slightly below the games you mentioned.

Before Hades and Silksong released I thought this year the top 6 or so was clear but now it's forcing decisions I wasn't expecting to see 😂

Based completely on vibes (reactions, how well each game did etc) because I haven't played them all this is what I think it will be too.

Tbh with you when I played Split Fiction I didn't think there was a chance it might not get nominated but it's a reality I might be facing.
