I really like how Nintendo sued Palworld into taking out mountable creatures, then release a game with no mountable Pokemon

if Legends ZA was a quirky side game priced at like $40 Id say its worth plucking away at, but considering its a $70 product its easy to just kinda feel ripped off. Its got a cool vibe and a fun story idea, but after 10ish hours I get the feeling Ive seen the entire game aside from number go up

To think I've played several new 3D Platformers released in 2025 in just a few short months makes me really happy. Back in my teens and college years I *had* to shop around older generations of games if I wanted to play the kinds of games I craved.

Yooka Replaylee in my mind feels like the most redundant remake conceivable but it turns out re-tuning the game to be closer to an Odyssey style adventure is exactly what the game needed for me to finally see the game through. I wish this was the game I backed on Kickstarter in the first place :^)

this is kind of already a thing with defunct MMOs from the 00s or things like Gaia Online as it used to be. Sure, I could play fan servers like Toon Town Rewritten or Artale on Maplestory Worlds for a similar experience but its not the official product that was available 15+ years ago.

all in all Im looking forward to the finish line! I can def see myself running the other two lifepaths in the future to see how different things can get, or just because I wanna try new builds and cybernetics.

the story and side missions are probably the most...I wouldnt say disappointing, moreso by the numbers than I expected? At about the start of Act 3 I realized Im just playing a GTA styled Borderlands game (as I tend to remember them) with *much* better writing and a lot less looting by comparison.

the gunplay and melee combat are absurdly fun, esp as you approach higher level skills and save up the cash for more cybernetics. Im running a Reflex/Body build so Im just zooming around encounters like a blur in the wind
