Wrote about Jabari Walker, who was the only player on the Sixers to really bring any juice tonight. It swung the game in their favor.
Also wrote about all sorts of weird and interesting rotation ramifications as Nick Nurse dealt with injuries: www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-jazz-...
Hard to imagine a less inspiring win than that one, but the Sixers have won a basketball game. A ton of weird rotation stuff. Story to come!
05.03.2026 02:53 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kyle Filipowski had a good look at a go-ahead three and missed it. Jabari Walker grabbed his 10th rebound of the game and hit two free throws to (seemingly) ice it. Walker has 22 points. Awesome game for him β the only guy who brought it tonight, and it's going to swing the game.
05.03.2026 02:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tyrese Maxey and Quentin Grimes go guard-to-guard screen and Grimes draws a foul. He has a chance to give the Sixers the lead at the foul line with 16.4 seconds left. Grimes just tied the game with a driving layup.
05.03.2026 02:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tyrese Maxey cleared out against Ace Bailey with the game tied and turned it over. Isaiah Collier scores the other way to give the Jazz the lead with 64 seconds left. Timeout Nick Nurse.
05.03.2026 02:47 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Adem Bona with a thunderous dunk off a Tyrese Maxey miss to tie the game. 1:45 left.
05.03.2026 02:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Against all odds, Keyonte George is back in the game, and he hits a three. Sixers have Maxey/Lowry/Martin/Walker/Bona out there inside of six minutes left, trailing by five points. I would get Grimes in there for Lowry ASAP.
05.03.2026 02:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Kyle Lowry is in the game in the fourth quarter. Sixers are down two with 8:20 left.
05.03.2026 02:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sixers have gotten an eight-point burst from Tyrese Martin here and they now lead by three. For what it's worth, I would imagine Utah's best (available) players will not get back in this game.
05.03.2026 02:27 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Sixers will open the fourth quarter with Cam Payne, Tyrese Martin, Justin Edwards, Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow on the floor. No Andre Drummond after two more missed threes tonight.

After three: Jazz 83, Sixers 82.
Sixers continued to look like a team going through the motions until the final minutes of the third quarter. Tyrese Maxey, up to 29 minutes, will *probably* sit to start the final frame. Sixers could use a spirited push without him.
Jabari Walker checks back into the game and immediately scores off an offensive rebound. Sixers need some intensity right now, still very much going through the motions and are now down.
05.03.2026 02:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 010-2 Jazz run opens the third quarter and gives Utah its first lead of the game. Timeout Nick Nurse.

Halftime: Jazz 48, Sixers 53
Felt like the Sixers were sleepwalking their way to a lead there. Utah has never led, but the Sixers have not landed any haymakers.
Jabari Walker (5-5 FG, 4-4 3P) leads all scorers with 15 points. Tyrese Maxey (14 points) right behind him.
Franklin the Dog made a half-court shot. His new streak is at one game.
05.03.2026 01:34 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Hell of a dunk by Quentin Grimes. Got it all over Oscar Tshiebwe.
05.03.2026 01:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kyle Lowry is in the game. Rotation is now up to 11 guys.
05.03.2026 01:23 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Adem Bona is grabbing his left elbow after a hard foul from Keyonte George. They are going to review it for a flagrant. What happened to being physical in between those lines?
05.03.2026 01:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Jabari Walker is now 4-4 from three-point range and just scored inside. Hell of a showing so far.
05.03.2026 01:13 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I actually think it would've helped amid the team's prolonged struggles, Matthew.

After one: Jazz 22, Sixers 29.
Sixers controlled the opening frame, holding Utah to an 8-22 shooting line from the field. Tyrese Maxey leads all scorers with 10 points.
Asked Jabari Walker last night if he thought the momentum from his 20 garbage-time points could carry into tonight's game and he said he wished he didn't even have to sleep and could just play the next game now. He just knocked down two early threes.
05.03.2026 01:04 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 2Tyrese Martin rotation minutes! The Allentown native checks in alongside fellow hometown kid Justin Edwards.
05.03.2026 00:54 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Old friend Mo Bamba is in the game for Utah.
05.03.2026 00:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sixers-Jazz is underway. Tyrese Maxey opened the scoring with a three, then Dominick Barlow finished through a foul at the rim. In a bit of pain, looks to be flexing his shoulder or elbow a bit. Staying in the game.
05.03.2026 00:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Asked Nick Nurse pregame if he reconsidered his longtime arrangement of starting Andre Drummond over Adem Bona on non-Joel Embiid nights. He did not commit to it then but acknowledged it was a possibility. He briefly mentioned that arrangement in the past tense, which was a tell.
