With Kelly Oubre Jr. out tonight, Sixers head coach Nick Nurse said Justin Edwards will “for sure” be in play tonight and Quentin Grimes should get “starters minutes.”

Asked Dominick Barlow last week if tonight’s game was circled on his calendar (he spent his first two NBA seasons in San Antonio). He said it was “half-circled,” as he has no ill will toward the Spurs.
Barlow this morning: “I’m 0-5 against my former teams. So I would like to win one.”
Kelly Oubre Jr. has been ruled out for Sixers-Spurs tonight due to an illness.

Wheels fell off for the Sixers tonight despite their valiant effort down the stretch. Not enough shotmaking or defensive rebounding all night. Tyrese Maxey only rested for the first 5:20 of the second quarter in a game the Sixers trailed for the vast majority. Story to come.

Sixers controlled most of the opening frame and led by as many as 10, but a poor close to the quarter let the Celtics back in it. They are playing too many non-shooters, though, and Adem Bona's great bench stint was halted by foul trouble.
