Account of woman released at the shelter. "I had just arrived at the detention center and was afraid and crying for my 6 children, the youngest a baby. They told me to stop crying and when I couldn't, they forced me to strip naked in front of male guards and put one of these straight jackets on."

How many are left?

Our shelter received a 4 week old baby and his mom a couple of months ago. Mom and baby had spent the previous 2 weeks sleeping on the floor of an ICE holding cell in the ICE Phoenix office.

What keeps them from doing more? Countries won't accept them? I know with these 3 women ICE tried for months to find a 3rd country in Africa but no country would take them.

Our shelter continues to receive Camaroonian women who are doing the $5 do-it-yourself habeus petition and getting released. Today a woman told me that a fellow detainee from Equatorial Guinea was deported to Camaroon which is in the middle of a civil war. It's an abomination.

We vote by mail.

I had another woman from Cameroon yesterday. She said they tried to get several African countries to take her but were not successful. Is there a way we could communicate directly?

Released detainees say they must ask permission to use the restroom. Women are uncuffed on only one hand and given no sanitary supplies, leading some to bleed through their clothing, while men remain fully handcuffed. When asked about bowel movements, one man said, “I can’t talk about that.”

A woman come to our shelter with a 3 week old baby. Her family had been franticly searching for her since the birth. She and her baby had been sleeping on the floor of an ICE holding cell since the baby's birth. They are not entered into the ICE locator until they are placed in a detention center.

She is probably too afraid. A reporter from Telemundo tried to get her to talk about the measles outbreak in Arizona detention centers and she started crying. On bus to east coast now. I can check with her later in week.

Met a released detainee from Cameroon at our shelter today. She started crying talking about being threaten with deportation to one of these African countries. She has a withholding of removal. She had been in detention 17 months and was released today by a federal judge under a habeus petition.

The Florence Detention Center in Arizona is under quarantine due to measles. Please someone report on this.

ICE just published a Request For Information on January 21 for a contract to do detainee death reviews(DDR). They say to plan for 18 per year.

Bystanders say man shot by federal agent in south Minneapolis this morning A large presence of federal immigration agents is at 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue where witnesses say a man was shot this morning. Scanner reports indicate a man was shot several times in the chest and has been taken to the hospital. Minneapolis Police Department officers are also on the scene there keeping more than 100 observers and protesters separated from the agents. An ambulance has left after CPR was seen being performed on the man.

Star Tribune is reporting this as well now, multiple shots in the chest.

Yesterday at our shelter where we receive ICE detainees, we were told that Florence Detention Center was in a total quarantine. Nobody leaving until further notice. No explanation. Women released from Eloy Detention reported measles cases being quarantined inside that center.

About 3 months ago our shelter in Arizona received an asylum seeker from Equatorial Guinea. She won her case and was granted asylum.

My 72 year old sister is marching today. The high temperature is -8F.

I work with released ICE detainees. Yesterday a man told me his cellmate had a tooth abscess. He was refused treatment until he became septic and needed a two month hospitalization. How does this make any sense?

Victor Manuel Diaz, 36, lived in Minneapolis. He was captured on Jan. 6 and flown to Camp East Montana, where the ACLU has reported widespread torture, and where a man died after being beaten by ICE guards three days earlier. He now becomes the sixth person to die in ICE custody in 2026.
