Every church should be doing this, and if your church isn’t, you’re at the wrong church.

Kurdt's Lead Belly cover is still fucken amazing and chill-inducing. He was gone 4 months after this aired on MTV.

Goodbye MTV...killed by the very thing I'm sharing this on, but least we enjoyed the days when it was ALL about the music.

Here's my tribute.

So they didn’t like the ad. Let’s just post Reagan’s 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.

Over and over. On all platforms (some of y’all are still on X).

Art History by Susan Auerbach - Rattle: Poetry In the picture he sent, a naked young woman hangs trussed in a tangle of red rope, legs tied in mid-leap, crisscross-bound breasts and thighs gaped at by salarymen with cameras.

Stunning. "Joy sweeps over us like a bright sheen of water."

Catalpa Tree is TWISTED. Parthenon in the background.

There is a tree in Nashville that I'm pretty sure was pulled up into a tornado when it was a sapling, but it had strong roots and it survived. I visit it every time I'm at Centennial Park. When I first moved here, it was barely taller than me, and now it's an adult!

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.

A poem in black text against a white background. The poem:

And Now It's September
By Barbara Crooker
and the garden diminishes: cucumber leaves rumpled and rusty, zucchini felled by borers, tomatoes sparse on the vines. But out in the perennial beds, there's one last blast of color: ignitions of goldenrod, flamboyant asters, spiraling mums, all those flashy spikes waving in the wind, conducting summer's final notes.
The ornamental grasses have gone to seed, haloed in the last light. Nights grow chilly, but the days are still warm; I wear the sun like a shawl on my neck and arms. Hundreds of blackbirds ribbon in, settle in the trees, so many black leaves, then, just as suddenly, they're gone. This is autumn's great Departure Gate, and everyone, boarding passes in hand, waits patiently in a long, long line.

First time seeing this - the line β€œI wear the sun like a shawl on my neck
and arms.” is sublime.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.
