I think if any single person is to blame, then surely it has to be Levy. Consistently poor batches of recruitment (and some windows of none at all), each tailored to a different managerial failure (mourinho, conte, ange, frank, etc.), stretching back the better part of a decade now.

Agree on all counts, but would argue they seemed to have our number for at least a couple of years immediately after our promotion under Benitez. Used to frustrate the hell out of me.

Really the only variable for me is how many of their injured players they expect to have back between now and the end of the season, and how soon.

In our case the managerial change almost kept us up and almost certainly would have had it been done sooner. Didn’t make an iota of difference in their case. Maybe they play that card again and land Big Sam…
