b) commodities processing crosses boarders all the time. Steel isn’t simple iron ore. And it isn’t as simple as just throwing ore in an oven and you magically have steel coils ready for manufacturers. The raw materials may come from multiple countries.

So examples of why moving production to the US while still imposing tariffs is a pretty dumb idea:
a) productivity isn’t something you can just “buy”. It requires a lot of training, experience working it, and a lot of trial and error. That’s why Jeep’s cars quality aren’t similar to Honda’s.
