They estimate it was 7 feet tall (2.1 m) and was moving at 4.5 mph (7.24 kph), and could even tell that it had a limp, as the strides show it was favoring one leg. Fascinating!

But this is exactly the kind of site we could lose access to or could be destroyed entirely if people who believe in the privatization and extractive exploitation of our public lands keep getting appointed to head up agencies like the Bureau of Land Management.

I just visited an amazing dinosaur trackway on Bureau of Land Management land that boasted footprints of a lumbering sauropod, several smaller carnosaurs, and even an allosaur. The air smelled of juniper, birds sang, and a spectacularly red sunset appeared over the desert landscape.

After midnight tonight, at 1:50 a.m. Pacific Time on March 2, a lunar eclipse begins. Totality starts at 3:04 a.m. PT. It’s a chance to see a “blood moon,” when the moon appears deep red. This happens because the earth’s atmosphere bends red sunlight into the earth’s shadow.
