Hi Brandy, ahh sorry about v delayed reply! Possible I could use a chapter in S2 but wouldn't be able to set the whole book due to the kinds of courses I'm teaching at the moment - will you be publishing course materials or should I approach you directly once syllabus firms up? Hope all's well! K

Sexuality in Modern German History A deep look at shifting views about β€˜normal’ and nonconforming sexuality across two centuries, and how these shaped people’s behaviours, politics, and lives.

Delighted the book made it to the wonderful Notches bookshelf! Warm thanks to Justin Bengry

Amidst all the sadness and violence as the old year drew to a close and new one begins, I was excited to get a mention in this Spiegel article on the sexual politics of the Weimar Republic by the super well-informed @christophgunkel.bsky.social
A good time to be reflecting on this past.

Neurodivergent people have a different way of thinking. Different is good. Diversity is good. It’s why life evolved in webs of diversity. The current regime wants to stamp that out and make copies of themselves in some sort of clonic inbred way that would have spelled extinction for most species.

From Nazi Germany to Trump’s America: why strongmen rely on women at home Fascist regimes pushed narratives of domestic bliss, yet relied on women’s unpaid labor. In the US today, β€˜womanosphere’ influencers promote the same fantasies

β€œThere’s been a reluctance to name this moment as fascism,” says cultural historian Tiffany Florvil, yet extreme authoritarian dynamics can be clearly seen in the American right today.”

Also in this sharp take on the reliance on women to prop up fascisms old and new: German historian Claudia Koonz.
