My 87 year old mother, a lifelong Democrat, on the way to vote in the Texas primary elections yesterday. Giving me Blind Al vibes.

Looking like good news all round for Democrats in Texas but they still have a steep hill to climb in November.

I left the classified briefing on Iran even more concerned about what comes next as Trump drags us into what's so clearly a war.

Democratic primary turnout is surging in Texas, according to early voting data | CNN Politics Early voting data ahead of next Tuesday’s US Senate primaries in Texas suggest a sharp rise in Democratic turnout, pointing to a continuing trend of strong enthusiasm among the party’s base.

This tracks with what my brother told me. He tried to take our mother to vote yesterday in Williamson County but the lines were too long so they got a mail ballot instead.

Just have to carry that enthusiasm over to November. Is the gerrymander backfiring?

I saw a brilliant all-male version of Iolanthe in London about 10 years ago. Still one of my favourite live entertainment experiences.
