If trump 2.0 only takes a year to get back to where we are now, what does this country look like in 3 more years?

So, a large protest against ICE in Portland with unions, doctors, nurses, kids, a bunch of everyday people, totally peaceful, was just broken up by ICE with a barrage of teargas.

I don't really know where we go from here or how we get there. But this already is fucking bad.

For the 82nd FX Policy and Budget meeting today; did anyone else find it weird that they took public comment at the end after the committee got the briefing and gave their thoughts?

Looks like Sound Transit will be purchasing three Brookville streetcars from Portland, to go into service on Tacoma's T Line, in place of the existing Skodas.

TriMet says full bus lanes on 82nd are up to project partners Here's why our transit agency is opting for less transit.

We used to build MAX lines and now we’re debating whether we can afford paint for bus lanes bikeportland.org/2025/11/07/t...

Finally seeing the effects of having a more fully staffed operator roster and not canceling runs daily, as was the case early in the summer.

Additionally they are replacing some very worn out OCS from Sunset to West Portal, would be a lot of single tracking.

I remember 44 and 45 were sitting at Sunset for upwards of 20 minutes with all the westbound trains getting sent.

AFAIK it was only put in to be able to send in a rescue train for smoke/fire events in the tunnel.

The tunnel is actually the only section which is signaled for reverse running with its own route codes and they’ve done single tracking before (I’ve done it WB in the EB bore!), but that was only at night and even then it caused major delays as clearance is still given manually by control.

I believe the lot/empty field on the northwest corner of Lombard and the MAX is owned by BURA now and is planned for redevelopment: www.beavertonoregon.gov/1669/Lombard...

Scandals doesn’t have the full street for their pride block party as usual; apparently β€œpermitting was too hard”.

Something is deeply broken at @pbotinfo.bsky.social these days.

Finally! As a part of the City's Affordable Housing Opportunities Project, they are looking to rezone two vacant sites owned by TriMet along the orange line from mixed employment (which doesn't allow housing!) to CM2 mixed use neighborhood as TriMet's TOD wants to pursue development there.

Agreed, slow street barriers were effective at traffic calming, they didn’t restrict/filter the types of traffic allowed through and this diverter seems particularly concerning given both Everett’s high traffic volumes and NW 20th being the way most people (in cars and bikes) access the Fred Meyer.

I’m not referring to a slow streets barrier but the diverter on the NW 20th Greenway that was installed before the pandemic, see the picture in my reply here:
