08.11.2025 03:37 β π 2156 π 474 π¬ 10 π 0I guess I have bad taste. Just finished The Witcher s. 4 ep. 5 and I liked it. So far, the new guy isn't so bad and I quite like Yen, Jaskier, Regis and for some reason also Cahir (I may be a sucker for redemption arcs). I've watched far worse shows and something in me still seems to enjoy this one.

rejection sensitive dysphoria. Anyone know more about this?
Is it possible that what I think feels like RSD is actually 'just' the result of being too controlled with my emotions around people for too long and that just explodes, when I get surprised by rejection?
I strongly believe the smallest act of daily creativity can powerfully reinforce & fuel our trauma recovery.
Our bullies & abusers desperately want us forgetting how to make & share music, art, poetry, or anything else. Ask yourself why.

s. 1 e. 3 is probably still my favorite because of how it shows how Norma, an autistic character, experiences the world and her fears.
"New people are scary. Actually just people. Period." - Norma
(honestly, all my nightmares are 'just' of social interactions)
Pine Martens - bit more character concept work for the third Gwelf book. Work continues. More soon.

Anyway... rewatching 'Dead End: Paranormal Park' now. <3

No idea why some people see representation in media as some kind of propaganda. It's not. To me it's an offer to either find parts of yourself in it or at the very least get an insight into people different than you, an offer to understand them.

"How can I hint that the hallway is trapped? How can I hint that if they defeat the dungeon lord, they become the next dungeon lord?"
Just tell them. Tell them out loud. With your words.

Not sure they were aware that they had the colors of the transgender flag, but β€οΈ if they were aware of it. :-)

11.09.2025 11:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A screenshot of a Tumblr post; gyavaforradalmar i'm starting to realise that having a diverse cast of characters actually lets you cheat your way out of many creative writing rules. 'this character is just infodumping and also talks too formally, the dialogue is not realistic at all!' yeah except they are canonically autistic. 'male viewpoint characters don't tend to describe other men this accurately' he is bisexual, next question. 'the pacing is off, why does she think in full-ass pharagraphs before saying a word?' it's called general anxiety disorder look it up. and maybe the most gut-punching one: 'why dont they just go to ThE poLiCe' no offense sir but you sound really white.
I mean, yeah, basically.
Hell, shit like this applies to characters in TTRPGs as well, and really does help reinforce that, as a GM, it's our responsibility to try and make our worlds as believable as possible for our players.
Easiest way to do that? Have a diverse collection of NPCs.

Getting blocked by someone for liking a post of the person after this person followed me? That were the only interactions.
Fascinating. That's the first time in human interaction where I don't even have any basis to let my thoughts spiral out of control. :-D Kind of disappointing for the RSD.
"Be aware: Sometimes you don't have one problem, but two. Or even more."
First stumbled upon that in my job as a software developer and explained it to colleagues when they were confused by a problem.
Then I noticed: it's applicable everywhere else too.
...now I hide it in my TTRPG plots. :)
Some neighbors (not from my house) and their friends partying in the backyard garden, with little RU flags for decoration.

From left to right a hedgehog (hedge), owl (strig), polarfox (vulpin), dove (luma). There's some hints that they will become a druid (the hedge with a snail on his hand), a paladin (the strig with a wooden sword), a wizard (the vulpin with a book) and a bard (the luma with a lute).

An #illustration of my rpg group's #Humblewood characters as kids. They'll be: druid, paladin, wizard & bard
It was a gift for the gamemaster - but I'm not sure, if they really liked it or not.
I'm not used to drawing antropomorphic animals (except mice). Need more practice & take more time
Sometimes I look in the mirror and it feels like alternate versions of me are staring back. I like the ones who smile, they give the other versions hope. :)

A reminder alert popped up.
"Oh," the Supervisor said, "it's time to check in on Sol-3 again. Szrpt, can you handle that?"
Szrpt bowed a frond. "Yes, of course."
"Don't forget to reset the killer asteroid if the sapients pose no threat."
"Once!" Szrpt bristled. "I only forgot that once!"
It amused me that the player who had not read the books made a character that was a bit like 'Satchel' from #BookshopsAndBonedust.
The whole session (~7h) went so amazingly well, that I have no idea how to continue from that without dipping in quality and fun.
But it was so worth it trying that.

I even let their 5th (npc) party member appear. A dwarven cleric who did not want to settle down, because then her family would pester her to take over the family brewery - of course the tavern accidently got their beer from them, because she had never bothered to tell that part of her backstory

Lots of character play and plot and I loved my players. They were a bit suprised by how many things I included in the plot that they had defined at the beginning and how seemingly minor details connected. But I guess that's a speciality of my ND brain, connecting everything with everything else.
