Auckland marathon?

It’s a hospital. Lots of people are on special diets bc of their health conditions, you’d think they would be able to cope!

My partner starved in Auckland Hospital bc he was plant-based and they gave him things like yoghurt. And rock hard inedible kiwi fruit with no way of peeling them. I guess the caterer got to tick the “fruit” box (with no accounting for the enormous waste.)

Glad I delayed planting out the wee seedlings in the weekend!
(Sometimes procrastination pays off!)

I’ve just finished Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell. So so good!

We sold our 1880s cottage painted yellowy cream with a green roof and lilac trim - new owners painted everything the same shade of pale grey - roof, weatherboards, windows.

Inside? Pale grey. At least they didn’t paint over the lovely golden wooden floors.

My partner was forced into early retirement because of the construction sector collapse … in his niche there is not a single person of experience standing. Everyone has left the sector, mostly to retire. A whole generation of expertise lost in one fell swoop.
