Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

It is incredibly frustrating. A Democrat in my life as SOON as Trump was elected immediately switched up on Palestine. All of a sudden it was a genocide. All of a sudden it was an atrocity. We're so beyond cooked because of this shit.

โ€œfinally it will be clear to americans that republicans dont like obamacareโ€

will you listen to yourself man, listen to the actual words coming out of your mouth

HELLO the "israeli" government is passing a bill that allows them to execute "terrorists" in prison.

they see EVERY PALESTINIAN or brown person as a "terrorist"

they are going to round people up, put them in camps and kill them.

we need to be louder about this.

11.11.2025 12:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 315    ๐Ÿ” 217    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 3

Did we get an ACA extension in the bill?

No.

Did we protect Article 2 from Presidential overreach?

No.

Well, what did we get?

Josh Hawley can sue for millions over Jan 6th and they recriminalized hemp products.

Oh sweet...

There is no "Miracle Mile Shopping Center". Like, that is not a thing that exists.

As frequently discussed, half of the reason for this mentality is because these people are just genuinely stupid, but the other half is Democrats simply donโ€™t want to believe the people they work with on a daily basis are actual sociopaths who want to see them dead

It's hard to escape the conclusion that "moderate" Democratic Senators view their job as creating talking points for ads rather than accomplishing anything

But computer science is cratering. Four-year undergraduate enrollment in computer and information sciences plunged by 7.7 percent this fall โ€” and it decreased almost twice as fast at the graduate level. The Clearinghouse data doesnโ€™t say why, but itโ€™s hard to ignore recent gluts of tech-company layoffs and questions about artificial intelligence taking codersโ€™ jobs in a discipline thatโ€™s proven subject to ebbs and flows.

From today's Chronicle of Higher Ed briefing. I am *never* an advocate of cutting programs. But I am curious to see if there will be the same type of "students aren't majoring in this, so let's cut the program" discourse around computer science as there always is for the arts and humanities.

You think we're stupid? You greenlit this deal. If you couldn't stop Dems from breaking away, then you don't deserve to be the leader.

10.11.2025 21:37 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1545    ๐Ÿ” 229    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 25    ๐Ÿ“Œ 3

the thing is, if you listen to it in the full context, it makes even less sense.

some good news: kim davis publicly ate shit, again

And I've been doing politics for long enough to know clearly that the entire Senate Democratic caucus agreed to this decision to fold. Open your eyes. The 8 who "broke" did so with the complete blessing of Schumer and their colleagues. You don't have to play along because this is not a game. The end

I received this email about Democrats caving to end the shutdown from one of the SNAP recipients I spoke to:

The filibuster is so fundamentally anti-democratic that forcing the authoritarian party to kill it so that they could keep taking health care and food away from Americans was probably the cleanest out from the damn thing, yet this Cones of Duneshire-ass opposition party loves rules more than wins.

10.11.2025 14:01 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 928    ๐Ÿ” 158    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 7    ๐Ÿ“Œ 2

To repeat: I have studied a lot of cases of autocratization over the past 15 years. Wrote about them, taught about them, consulting about them.

I do not recall an opposition so apathetic, ignorant, and inept as the @democrats.org. They cling to their power, rather than fight for democracy. Shame.

The NYT has a smaller audience than Ms Rachel and she reaches lots of normies who don't bother with the paper, this was probably not a good idea for them

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

10.11.2025 03:20 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5216    ๐Ÿ” 1424    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 24    ๐Ÿ“Œ 90

Truly amazing that any time the democrats have to bite the bullet and do something that ruins countless lives, there's always *just* enough votes to get it done, but if there is a vote on something that would actually improve people's lives, they are always one vote short. Crazy how that happens.

10.11.2025 03:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2537    ๐Ÿ” 703    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 26    ๐Ÿ“Œ 20

They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. Theyโ€™re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you donโ€™t agree with that, you donโ€™t understand Politics,

10.11.2025 02:44 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 11344    ๐Ÿ” 2496    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 208    ๐Ÿ“Œ 107

It was harder getting endorsements for Zohran Mamdani from Democrats than them caving to Republicans to mutually strip us of healthcare

10.11.2025 03:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2172    ๐Ÿ” 612    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 23

Once they were in the shutdown though they could have made it about anything. Put clips of ICE abducting children on endless loop and say โ€œdo we keep funding a govt that does *that*?โ€ Then you might get federal workers clamoring not for concessions but a strike.

Again, requires believing in things.

The most Democrat consultant-brained piece of this was making it a procedural fight about ACA subsidies โ€” that, if extended for a year, would help the GOP in the 2026 midterms anyway โ€” instead of making it stand against Trumpโ€™s lawlessness and corruption.

But that would require believing in things.
