Meet the Begbroke community: Nekton is a not-for-profit organisation that spun out of the University of Oxford. They undertake scientific exploration of the ocean, working with international partners and scientists on missions and programmes to deepen understanding and help secure a thriving ocean.

Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

We spoke with three women from across Oxford University Science Park, Begbroke, about their journeys in industry, research, and leadership.

The East West Railway Company were on site at Begbroke today, with a stand in the coffee shop, speaking with our community about the plans for the Oxford–Cambridge rail link.

The project represents an important opportunity for the region, and we welcomed the chance to learn more about it.

On this grey February day, we’re looking forward to sunnier days outdoors.

We’re lucky to be surrounded by green spaces and wildlife at Begbroke, including our pond, home to koi, carp and goldfish.

Meet the Begbroke community: A&B Smart Materials is a start-up based in our AgileLab at Begbroke. They’re working on biodegradable alternatives to fossil-based superabsorbent polymers used across hygiene products, agriculture and packaging.

Oxford startups OXCCU and A&B Smart Materials recognised in Startups 100 Index 2026 - The Oxford Magazine Two Oxford startups, OXCCU and A&B Smart Materials, feature in the Startups 100 Index 2026, with OXCCU also winning the Sustainability Award.

Congratulations to both our tenants OXCCU and A&B Smart Materials, recognised in the Startups 100 Index 2026. #AgileLab tenant A&B Smart Materials featured in the Top 100, while OXCCU ranked fourth overall and won the Sustainability Award.

New state-of-the-art quantum computer switched on in Harwell Dr Chris Ballance says the new quantum computer 'uses less power than an electric kettle'.

Congratulations to our tenants, Oxford Ionics, on delivering a new state-of-the-art quantum computer to the UK's NQCC based at Harwell.

It is said to be the most advanced quantum computer in the world and will help drive forward the UK's Quantum Missions programme. Read more: tinyurl.com/3acpt6pz
