Today we are excited to be hosting the HSS PGR Opportunities Showcase, highlighting the resources and support available to PhD students in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Liverpool. Might some of today's attendees be our doctoral candidates of the future?

Faculty Doctoral Training Officer Hayley Meloy outlined some of the funding routes open to postgraduate researchers, including through the AHRC and ESRC Doctoral Training Partnerships, as well as University of Liverpool Fellowships.

Current PhD student Naeema gave a terrific talk about the uncertainties and joys of pursuing a PhD, and gave some insightful suggestions on how to navigate those ups and downs!

Michael Mair from engage@liverpool and James Howard from The Academy are now showcasing some of the vast array of training resources available to postgraduate researchers, which can provide them with the research skills and personal development to achieve their full potential.

Lyn Hughes (Link Officer) and Firat Cengiz (Faculty Deputy Director of Postgraduate Research) are now setting out some of the major milestones along the PhD journey, the all-important stepping stones that can get you to your final goal!

The University of Liverpool Library team have been here, talking about Open Research and the vital support that they can provide to our postgraduate researchers.

Martina Ferrari from the University of Liverpool Central Wellbeing Team tells us about some of the services and support available across the institution to promote good mental health and wellbeing for our researchers and staff.

Dr Jasmin Nessa is closing the session by talking our attendees through how to make the most of their PhD, career paths after completion, and advice for those considering a PhD.
