Government shutdown imperils dozens of Head Start preschool programs Head Start programs that serve tens of thousands of the nation’s neediest preschoolers are facing a cutoff of federal funding at the end of the month because of the government shutdown.

🍎📚Head Start is a federally funded program providing daycare, preschool, and nutrition to young children of low income families.

Funding grants are staggered so money runs out at different times for different states.
