to be clear - ballet was initially his own choice, not parental preference. or anything we would have otherwise presented as an option.

i'd avoid ballet for a girl, sadly its just too awful awful awful.
& of course you always have to keep the parental antennae out for weird authoritarian or grooming bs.
followed although he couldn't deal with their version of ballet (complete inability to coordinate the arms, just for a start). bollywood & tap did nicely.
anyways, i'd check out circus people, there was a brief circus camp exp during a school break for our kid that had a good vibe.
experience of what humans can achieve only in groups by all pulling in (mainly) the same direction with cross generational knowledge & abilities.
& then at around 14-15 yrs he said "get me off this train these russians are CRAZY".
smooth transition to very nice hippie esque dancing community
our kid (boy) spent 10 or so years studying ballet with the local russian people's front of ballet as opposed to the non-russian front of ballet people & he gained some close lovely friendships still going strong, impeccable technical dance foundation laid into his very bones, & a formative

that would produce a valuable role for urban avs working hand in hand with transit to improve urban mobility, including increasing safety for pedestrians, bicyclists & those in cars.
it would be a major change from just adding them to the roads.
i live in sf. we have more AVs than pretty much anywhere, as far as i can tell. we also have one of if not the densest public transit systems west of the mississippi.
avs are decidedly not being used as last mile in conjunction with transit.
there might exist a regulatory & fiscal framework
oh my god everything about this looks AMAZING

completely correct in the area of memo/brief writing & *also* totally ignores the vast amount of human intelligence brought to bear in all the counseling & persuasive parts of the work.
i feel like the conversation is rumbling along utterly divorced from the reality of my job ...
as with the sakei, i didn't take the probiotic bifidum v often, my thinking only was to take the minimum necessary to start a self sustaining population.
it's all really helped on so many fronts. hope you find low key things that work for you too!
reportedly plays a major role in keeping your digestive track nicely insulated so that irritants don't circulate as freely thru the rest of your system. they apparently like the insoluble fiber in inulin, so i took both probiotic & inulin at first, then only continued inulin to keep 'em fed & happy.

adding powdered Lactobacillus sakei (i got it from lanto), reducing frequency of sakei as things got better. now just use it when i have a cold, etc. still rinse 2x/day. if you like kimchi, eat that as often as you like too, it's got sakei in it.
for guts i went with Bifidobacterium bifidum bc it
i found the whole reverse-puberty hormone thing really did a number on my sinuses & digestion, both very much appreciated my taking a super low stakes low risk why not approach to rebuilding a robust suite of friendly microcritters. for my sinuses this meant 2x/day saline rinse & about 1x/week

here's a tip to assist your beginner-to-advanced knitting journey, "patty lyons [insert current knitting challenge/conundrum] video" in the search engine of your choice. she's reliable, clear & pretty darn comprehensive.

or during the long running payroll debacle - if i'm wrong about this please correct me ( your staff did not),
and 2) the students & families have shown remarkable solidarity with teachers, who are after all performing socially valuable services for comparatively little, & unreliable, pay.
in that context, i was profoundly disappointed that you joined with other elected representatives to pressure teachers to pause their exercise of their legal right to witthold their labor.
particularly as 1) i do not recall you publicly pressuring sfusd board and/or management, either now
@scottwiener.bsky.social this is, in part, what inspired my call to your office earlier this week - missionlocal.org/2026/02/sf-t...
the missing piece here is the *extended* period of time during which sfusd staff have not been able to rely on receiving their pay in an accurate & timely manner.
having your own swift & ball winder is truly luxurious. perfect lazy sunday passtime.

seriously, the extent to which people underestimate recovery time from a viral infection is a LOT.
hope you feel better soon!
if a dr does prescribe a short course of a corticosteroid inhaler keep in mind that topical application will be at a far lower dose than raking a pill & if short term inhaler wards off the need for oral steroids you are streets & streets ahead.
