I liked the idea that human biology contained the untapped cosmic power of creation which could be unleashed with psychadelic drugs. 😵‍💫

Very wild, nutty, and very new age, and it at least beats the endless superhero narratives in movies these days. 😆

It helps thay every Predator movie has a different Yautja as the monster, so writers have some leeway when crafting these stories.

It's like a Conan or Terminator 2 movie, but starring a Klingon! 🙏✊️

Only issue is Yautja and Synths don't really get scared, so there's no real sense of palpable danger.

Trial and error... for science!

“I think anybody who enters should understand that they may not leave.” Hundreds of immigrants have been detained at the Edward J. Schwartz federal courthouse in downtown San Diego. The emotional scenes have alarmed activists, immigration lawyers and local elected officials.

I saw it last night. As usual for Guillermo del Toro, the movie is a feast for the eyes.

They changed a bunch of stuff from the novel (again) but I'm glad so many of the beats I haven't seen before are there this time. 🙂

Predator: Badlands review: a lighthearted twist on the brutal sci-fi series In Predator: Badlands, even a Yautja can cry.

Was pleasantly surprised and delighted by Predator: Badlands, a movie that asks "what if a softboy Yautja made friends at band (murder) camp with a chipper robot girl?" My review:

Honestly, the sheer ridiculousness of the Kalisk almost throws Badlands into some sort of scifi myth territory.

I’m trying not to be THAT guy but between del Toro’s Frankenstein Creature and one of the primary monsters of Predator: Badlands, I think Minus One’s regeneration scenes reaaaaally shot a hole in some Hollywood nerds’ heads

I think ultimately every guy is either an Alien Guy or a Predator Guy and in the '00s they tried to pit us against each other because they feared our combined power. PREDATOR: BADLANDS understands the truth: There is nothing we can't accomplish when we are united.
