This week brings fiber WiFi installation in my new residence, the chaos of a household move and many kinks in getting said move accomplished, and too many deadlines.

I both love and curse my muse.

Love: She gave me 2,080 new (good) words in a WIP today, not counting some setup notes I added.

Curse: She got vocal while I was working on an edit. AKA my livelihood.

Thankfully, I could make a split shift happen.

Just Get It Done tends to backfire for me as well. The thing(s) might well *get* done, but I and other things will pay for it after the fact. Sigh. Life does love throw curveballs, doesn’t it?

Grumbling at life happened in my neck of the woods too.

Today’s news of any note: Vet visit for the two canines accomplished. Older dog is getting more persnickety about it. Young scaredy-dog did amazingly well.

Now to find the package the delivery people *swear* arrived today…

Speaking of potatoes, they’re a much-desired part of dinner tonight.

Happy to hear that the new writing schedule suits you. And thanks to Rookie for assisting with the selfie.

That seems an excellent continued use of a writer’s cave.

What have I been thinking about? Too many things, some of which are more stressful than I think they should be.

To alleviate that, today was “Wash the scaredy-dog day.” He did surprisingly well. Even made new friends at Tractor Supply!

I might have sung that title in my head. Good tune.

Hopefully the quiet after the siren ruckus turned conducive to writing. And that the new character divulges their name.

That’s an interesting analogy.

I’d say my memory functions more like linked expandable folders, where bits of (often disparate) information point me to the needed set. I admit it sometimes takes longer than desired. Then again, there’s a whole lotta stuff in there.

My errands for the day are accomplished, and I’m on Station Air in my office due to climbing outdoors temps. Now if the canine who calls me his Emotional Support Human would settle down…

More knowledge about stones for the win.

My day thus far has been editing interspersed with rounds of canine duty calls and Zoom meetings. Dinner for them and two humans will be soonish.

Station Air again here as well, although the weatherbeans promise much cooler temps starting tomorrow. My day is chaotic between editing, canine duty, and waiting to chauffeur a family member home from yesterday’s surgery. The canines and I will be pleased to have her back in-house.

A friend/fellow editor and I recently encouraged one of our good friends and fellow book dragons to read _I Dare_ as their intro to the Liaden universe.

Rookie, you’re entirely too flirtatious to resist in that pic. And yay, Trooper! Good job making inroads on your meal(s).

Well done, Tali, reminding the youngster that there’s a time, place, and (the correct) cat to wrassle with.

Wishing you time and peace to write, and that the other cats’ care for Trooper continues to soothe him.

It’s always hard news when a beloved family member of whatever species moves into their end of life. Trooper is in the best hands (and paws)—those who love him.

I love it when characters take their story (and their authors by extension) through unexpected cartwheels, corkscrews, and side quests that prove pivotal to addressing their challenges and moving the story forward.

Now I sit down, stay quiet, and type their incident reports. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Another 1,363 words written in the fantasy WIP between last night’s session and tonight’s.

That doesn’t count the +/- 300 words of setup notes, AKA reminders of things I need to follow up on for open plot points.

That’s a pretty project.

Intentions for today include doing laundry (in progress) and getting a major chunk of an edit done. The latter is progressing slowly due to interruptions.

Station air in ON in whatever room I’m inhabiting, there being no such thing as central air in my current residence. The canine Master of the House has deigned to leave me “unassisted” after he and his much younger canine companion alerted me to the arrival of a package.

Yay for Tali enjoying a brushing! Also for the dumplings and latte treat. Well deserved, say I. Happy writing!

Update away! I enjoy the mix of life and book news, regardless of which platform I consume it on.

Today, I woke up early, got up, fell back asleep in my recliner, and now need to hustle through remaining edits and household duties.

Gerber Stage 2 baby food was how I reliably got meds into my feline duo. The sanctuary I adopted them from learned it from vets. Teach ‘em it’s an occasional treat, and no arguments when you need to mix meds in it later on.

An adventure well worth having.

Hopefully, the vet and Trooper will reach a consensus that will help Trooper rally. Best wishes for that.

No bored authors, please.

Not sure I’m doing anything that isn’t boring in the retelling. It’s a “butt in chair, gotta hit a deadline” kind of day. Perhaps I’ll take a minute or three to watch “bird TV” at the feeders during stretch breaks.
