Mayor will face opponents to zoning plan at rallies outside of City Hall - 48 hills
Press conference, silent protest marks first official meeting on upzoning proposal. Here's what to look for
Rent controlled apartment buildings should be categorically exempt from this upzoning legislation. Instead they are prime targets of it.
If proponents are serious about development without displacement and housing affordability, they will exempt rent controlled buildings.

when i say the NYTimes deserves neither your money nor your respect, i also mean NYTimes cooking, NYTimes puzzles, crosswords, connections, and wordle, the wirecutter, the athletic, and all their podcasts.
the NYtimes launders anti-trans bigotry; this is their victim-blaming victory lap

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off
Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.
Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

The Age of the Double Sell-Out
In the last three decades, youth culture has moved from a deep suspicion of commerce to a passionate defense of anti-anti-commerce to an entire generation of "creatives” who leverage the commercial ma...

Mr Darcy the cat is more of a morning snuggler. he has a supernatural ability to detect when I’m about to get out of bed to start my day and without fail he chooses right then (and not a moment sooner) to jump into the bed and plop down on me and demand affection. I love him

Georgie the cat tucks me in every night, by which I mean when she sees me go to bed she hops up for snuggles for a little then once I shift to get comfy for real sleep time she hops away because she prefers to sleep on the couch. It makes me feel very loved

How do cats always land on their feet? Scientists believed they use the dropper's hand as a fulcrum until these images, captured at 12 frames per second, debunked that in 1894. More on the Falling Cat Problem here: buff.ly/2Ep1orD

Really can't be emphasized enough that Kamala Harris, like most Democrats, did not actually run on the defense of trans people in 2024. The real ask here is for Democratic candidates to join in attacking a minority population that is being persecuted by the current administration for votes.

one of the heart breaking things about anti trans propaganda is how wildly effective it has been. Study after study pre 2017 showed the majority of people in the U.S. were generally positive on trans issues and happy to learn more. Jordan Peterson, JKR, Matt Walsh, all those freaks will burn in hell

CA Gov Gavin Newsom "Completely Aligns" With Charlie Kirk On Trans Issues In Podcast
The California Governor, in the launch of his new podcast, announced that he completely aligned with far-right, ant-LGBTQ+ influencer Charlie Kirk on sports, and agreed on prisons and youth care.
1. This morning, California Governor said he was in "complete alignment" with anti-LGBTQ+ hate-influencer Charlie Kirk of TPUSA on transgender sports.
He also conceded on trans inmates and gender affirming care for youth.
It's so much worse than being reported.
