I've had this happen. My 'crime' was they made me feel uncomfortable as hell with obsessive behaviour so I cut ties. They proceeded to stalk my Discord mutual friend list and 'warn' people about me. Thankfully it does indeed come off as pretty unhinged so I didn't lose any friends over it.

Huh I guess I never considered that it could work like an easier and more accessible XIVSnapper. That's going to be interesting if/when a new syncing plugin catches on. A shame that people are acting like animals about it, though.

Never underestimate the resourcefulness of people. It's inevitable that an alternative will rise from the ashes, but screaming at SE isn't helping. The quieter the modding community is, the more tolerant SE is likely to be. We've always known it's against the ToS and this is a good reminder to STFU.

I really wish more people were dedicated to be kind, regardless of being nice, rather then trying to be nice but skipping being kind entirely. Nice is a cool bit of flavor text. Kind is fucking essential.

It used to be. Hell, people were overall a lot more discreet about mods in the past but then the popularity blew up with little to no consequences. SE doesn't want modded FFXIV to be "official"-facing though, so basically try and not provoke them into taking it more seriously. That's all, really.

Yes! My main got a full rewrite after someone I used to RP with did a fun lil obsessive morph into my OC. Thankfully it forced me to make some changes I'd been considering for awhile since I didn't love writing my character's old job. 'Fun to write' was not something I considered enough as a sprout.
