Suitsuki (水付き [sic]), or "covered in water", as a reference to the pouring rain. (Proper reading should actually be "Mizutsuki", but I didn't know back then.) I somehow arrived at をヨスい぀き, which I deformed into looking like "PERiod", while also turning the two horizontal strokes in き into "^^". +

And yes, ayosu-5ki is his dev name. Itsuki created ZApNeF himself. Who knows, maybe he used RPG Maker?

5 can be read as "itsu", so 5ki = Itsuki. Ayosu is a random word he made up. I guess he just thought it sounded cool.

I've been contacted about the canonicity of some Itsuki's data, since the original source tweets are now gone (as I've deleted my personal X), so here's some stuff about Itsuki I can confirm!
He's 17 years old, 175cm tall (or 5'9"), and he was born in May 10, 1991!
("Someday" takes place in 2008.)

I came up with Itsuki's birthday partially through goroawase. Itsu is 5. No number sounds like ki, so I took 10, which can stand for ji and sounds a bit similar. Plus I just like the numbers a lot.

Fr tho how do people even do these. Do they painstakingly lay events all around so that you tint sprite every time you step into/out of the shadows? Do they code it with a function that calculates with tile coordinates if you're in a shadowed tile or not?
