A low-resolution picture of my book, _Listen to Jazz!: Exploring a Musical Genre_ with a description: "Providing an introductory overview of jazz as both an American musical genre and a global creative exchange, _Listen to Jazz!_ explores the diversity of jazz's sounds, compositions, recordings, and styles. Surveying the sounds, concepts, performances, and production of jazz, this work includes A-to-Z entries on recent jazz musicians from around the world, jazz musicians and recordings that have been marginalized, and musicians, songs, and albums that have contributed to the defining aspects of specific jazz styles. Chapters on the impact of jazz on popular culture and its legacy, as well as a bibliography, enhance the historical and analytical content of the work." Publication dates, pages, ISBN, and series information follow.

Hi, Kendra. It seems clear to me. Perhaps it's because "case studies" is borrowed language from other kinds of scholarship (e.g., social sciences)? I can't see other comments, so sorry if this has already been mentioned.

I took a photograph of the back of my cat Aasta's head. The above picture is actually four pictures using filters of various colors--together, resembling Andy Warhol's postmodern portraits.

@garybutler.bsky.social The Monkees’ Micky DolenzΒΉ was one of the first to bring the Moog Modular systemΒ² into popular music. "Daily Nightly", was one of the first uses of the synthesizer on a rock recording. Dolenz bought the third modular Moog, after Wendy Carlos and Buck Owens.

Comic of two black kitties talking by Purr.In.Ink. One asks "What do the hoomans want?" Other cat answers, "Wireless tech." First one, "How do we help? Yes!" (perhaps another joins in?). Cat with all the answers, "We bit the cables!"

Totally agree with you, but I'm glad that we found each other here. I'm on Bluesky to get away from Facebook. Same with the Holy Librarians page. I've added the Musicology feed and sometimes see people I know posting there yet still not as many as I've hoped.

Tabby comic. Panel 1: From a distance, "Eeek! Is that a mouse? Take it outside!!" as cat carries mouse. 2. Cat tells mouse outside, who isn't harmed at all, "wait here--I'll be right back!" 3. Human hand gives cat Swiss cheese slice and says, "You can have as much cheese as you want if you keep catching those mice. OK?" 4. Cat back outside, sharing cheese with mouse, "...maybe if she actually watches me catch you, she'd break out the REALLY good cheese..." and mouse replies, "Oooh! Do you think she has GRUYERE?!"

There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
