Taking a bite out of the mooncake there was a laugh that followed. The taste was amazing, better than what he thought it would be.

"I am goin to need to know the recipe for this. These would be wonderful to have on hand! Your skills impress me yet again."

During the hours she was away he had done his usual patrol around his mountain. It wasn't until she returned with the gift of a peach mooncake that his eyes lit up. A treat just for him?

"Patrol is the same as ever. No trouble, but even if there was it wouldn't have been that way for long."

Stopping for a moment he took Jingu Bang and extended it like a tree, hanging on at the top. The view from up here was always breathtaking. His eyes scanned all they could of the mountain to see if he had missed anything.

Even though things were nice and calm now he continued his patrol. You could never be too careful when your name is Sun Wukong. It still took some getting used to having everything be so peaceful after the life he's had. Maybe this was actually a good change of pace from all the chaos. ↓

Meanwhile back at Mount Huaguo the Monkey King was on patrol making sure everything was going smoothly at home. No violent visitors or uninvited guests from his many enemies.

Each clone gave a nod, ready to depart and gather whatever was needed of them.

"Whatever you need me to get, I'm on it. Gathering materials won't be too hard. I'll even send some clones out to cut down on the time it would take."

Plucking a few hairs he would generate some clones.

"We should be able to get everything we need in time for the festival. ↓

"That sounds like a good idea. We won't have to worry about any unnecessary trouble either."

Whenever he was around her he was comfortable. A festival at home was the perfect solution to celebrate without having to worry about anything else happening around them.

After a couple months of hiding he is roaming once again. No, he's not here to kill you. He has finally been able to retire from the assassin life.

"If I ever do go to an event I always stay disguised and don't hang around for very long. While I do enjoy festivals from time to time I'd rather hold my own simple celebration here."

For the first time in a long time he felt happy to have someone beside him like this. Fate was cruel to him before, but it felt different this time.

"Of course I will. Where else am I going to be?"

He flashed a smile of his own, holding out his hand to her.

"Never let your confidence waver, small friend. Show everyone who you are!"

"Until you get your flow back may I suggest taking in the scenery of the mountain as the seasons begin to change? This place can look breathtaking at times."
