Anyway, my favorite album from November 1975 is Joni Mitchell’s The Hissing of Summer Lawns. Queen is a close 2nd. Lotta good albums.

My favorite album from October 2025 is probably Roxy Music’s Siren.

Of course, my favorite album released in September 1975 is Wish You Were Here. That’s like an all-time top 20 or so for me.

August 1975 was a weirdly light month volume-wise. Even as a Bruce non-convert, my favorite album from that month is surely Born to Run.

My favorite album from July 1975 is Fleetwood Mac’s (second) self-titled, with Sabbath’s Sabotage JUST behind it.

The album I’m currently stuck on is Fairport Convention’s Rising for the Moon. They are a band I’ve tried to get into but never fully clicked with, including much of this album; but “Dawn” and “One More Chance” are two of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Those songs may have planted the seed for me.

June 1975 was full of great albums, my favorite likely being Neil Young’s Tonight’s the Night.

My favorite album from May 1975 is Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, with special mentions to Minnie Riperton, and to the Pointer Sisters.

My favorite album from April 1975 is Aerosmith’s Toys in the Attic. Dudes rock. King Crimson’s USA is right beside it.

After some time away, my favorite album from March 1975 is either Bowie’s Young Americans, Roberta Flack’s Feel Like Makin’ Love, or Bad Company’s Straight Shooter (which features the song Feel Like Makin’ Love!!!!!).

I guess a “fun” addition to this is to list my top ten favorite albums of the year so far, and see how things get shuffled around. Several of my all-time favorites are from 1975, so this list will certainly be very different by the time I finish the year.

Obviously, my favorite album from February 1975 is Physical Graffiti. It’s already a year full of great music, to no surprise of my own.

Well, now time to spend my worktime hours listening to a bunch of albums from 1975. A bunch of my favorite albums came out this year, so I’m excited to dive in. Starting off, my favorite album from January is Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks (same as many people, I would guess).

As of now, my top ten favorite albums from 1990 are Heaven or Las Vegas, Facelift, Violator, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got, Cowboys From Hell, Ritual de lo Habitual, Fear of a Black Planet, Bloodletting, Nowhere, and Behaviour.

Not really sure what my favorite album from November 1990 is. Part of me says Bad Religion, part of me says Cinderella, part of me says Killing Joke. My personalities cannot come to a consensus. And as for December, not much came out, but my favorite was Brand Nubian’s debut, with Enigma in 2nd.

My favorite album from October 1990 is Ride’s Nowhere, with Pet Shop Boys’ Behaviour as a very close second.

My favorite album from September 1990 is Cocteau Twins’ Heaven or Las Vegas, but there are six or seven potential top ten albums from this month alone. Things are getting tight.

My favorite album from August 1990 is Facelift, but of course I am biased. Several excellent albums came out that month.

That album is all about four big cornerstone songs for me, and one of those songs is neutered, which hurts it. Besides that, July is all about Apple, Cowboys From Hell, and the Allman Brothers Band’s Seven Turns.

The thing with July 1990 is that Chloe Dancer was cut from Mother Love Bone’s Apple, and the album just has Crown of Thorns by itself. The full song was released in ‘89 on their EP (and on the Singles soundtrack in ‘92). Who made the decision to edit it on the album? Insane move.

Upon reviewing my list of 1990 albums that did not have a specific release date/month listed, I was in fact able to track down a month for the majority of them. As such, I may have to amend my favorite Jan 1990 album to Daniel Johnston’s 1990, and my favorite Feb 1990 album to Naked City.

My favorite album from June 1990 is Uncle Tupelo’s No Depression.

Speaking as a big fan of both Mazzy Star and Mark Lanegan, both of whom released their debuts in May 1990, my favorite album from that month is Concrete Blonde’s Bloodletting. I discovered them recently via the beauty of terrestrial radio, and I think I love them.

April 1990 is about the hippity hopping. Public Enemy’s Fear of a Black Planet and A Tribe Called Quest’s first album both came out on the same day. Crazy.

March 1990, here we go. Things are getting real. Sinéad O’Connor’s I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got, and Depeche Mode’s Violator (I hardly know her!)

February 1990 was also pretty diverse, although there were quite a few more albums released that month than in January (which seems to be a regular occurrence). My favorite from this month was probably Oingo Boingo’s Dark at the End of the Tunnel, with second place being Alan Jackson’s proper debut.

There weren’t a ton of albums released in January 1990, and what did come out is so stylistically diverse that it’s hard to compare. That said, my favorite was probably The Sundays’ Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic.

I’ve slowly started listening to a lot of albums from 1990, but my brain has been hurting so I haven’t been able to gather my thoughts. I’m currently at the end of February though - thoughts coming soonish.
