I’ll weight in on the Austin FC red card. Biro may be paying for past discretions. Not a red in mind but I think it was a bad play on his part. He did his job and slowed the break, but then he proceeds to yank on his arm and follows with careless studs to the leg. Seemed like bad decision making.

Maybe the fastest goal after signing?

Austin FC’s 4 points is second best start after two games… behind the blistering 2 wins and 10 goal start in 2022. If they secure a win next week, 7 points would be their highest point total after 3 games and a draw still gets them their first three game unbeaten streak to start a season.

If Nico benched Uzuni I feel like he’d completely fall apart and he’d have an existential crisis. His performance really makes you wonder what has happened since his time in LaLiga and LaLiga II. How was he a golden boot.

I’m beginning to feel like we need Owen Wolff days to get these guys gelled.

But he does seem to be a really nice guy. So there’s that.

With leagues cup and us open cup it’s definitely a good problem to have. I like our positional flexibility, or at least what i perceive it to be. Looking forward to seeing how the pieces lineup today.

I’m indifferent on this. Something needs to done with him eventually but waiting isn’t the end of the world. We do need some solid production out of him in the 1st part of the season for the obvious reason of helping the team, but also building value and as an alternative to BV if he struggles.

So Zardes basically? 😂 Would you take him on a league minimum deal?

I will withhold my excitement until @tombogert.bsky.social confirms. I’m still hopeful Uzuni has a great sophomore season but even if he does, I feel like he’s a bad roster fit with a healthy and effective BV.

I find your choice of Djordjevic over BHI interesting and one that I agree with. I’m really hoping Nico leans into the young talent and gives them the minutes needed to develop. But that would also mean I’d swap Illie for Duber. Although I can see how Illie’s experience could benefit this lineup.

Solid episode

Good to back in the North End. Not a lot of takeaways today, hard to tell with the lineups. We had a ton of possession in the 1st half but never looked dangerous. NYC did manage to get behind a few times. Stu made some good saves but ultimately missed a couple. No DPs or Owen is not a good look. ☹️

As a dad to an 11 year old soccer player who loves Austin FC… I often used Obie as an example of how not to behave on the pitch. I wish him luck on the remainder of career and I’m grateful it’s not going to be at Austin FC.

Seems like Austin FC is building the roster for the long term with some young-ish players that have their prime years ahead of them. The back half of the 2020’s could be fun at Q2.

. I wonder how you get Uzuni and BV to be cohesive, especially now that we have two new wingers that seem like lock-in starters. Do we try dual strikers again? Any chance they see if Torres can play CAM? It feels like we are going to have some ??? when BV is back.

Ownership is showing they are willing to spend big money and take chances. As a fan what more can you ask. If he throws up 2024 goal numbers I couldn’t care less if he has less than double digit assists.

My son was at a soccer clinic last night put on by Diego Rubio and his brother. Ilie showed up to watch for a bit. I wanted to go ask him if he was on the supplemental roster. 😂 Y’all have turned me into an MLS roster sicko.

I’d agree. It feels incomplete. I’d like us to find a final U22 on a creative attacking mid and go young in 2026 and take the 2m in GAM.

I may be in the minority thinking getting rid of Buka for 6.5m is a good roster move. His production wasn’t there and his decision making was suspect. He was fast and could dibble but to what result? His goal contributions were not at a level of a 7mm transfer fee.

Well from what little I know about the roster rules #2 seems most likely. TAM is use it or lose it, so might as well save GAM. It’s an interesting move to grab a max tam left back, makes me think Biro or Zan could be transferred. Even with a 5 back lineup. Thoughts?
