I've been trying to sort through all the pain and hurt and find what it is I really like/love, and if there's a way to do that and to just be *me* and not be consumed by doubts and bad memories.

I'm going to keep trying.
I think my passion has to come with a reason, at least.

Thank you so much, Kat. I miss talking to you and hearing your thoughts too...! If I thought I could take it, I would return to the Nexus server in a heartbeat but right now...

...Even without that old audience of friends and followers, maybe getting some of these thoughts off my chest will help...even a little? And maybe I'll be hungering to say it less on the inside if I just *say* it now?

I think leaving was the right thing but damn do I miss it...!

That, lonely as I might be without those familiar voices sending little hearts my way for every rushed stroke of my pen, this kind of 'thing' is just feeding a bad addiction.

And I find I'm still massively under the sway of my needier, more childish emotions even now, else I wouldn't be here posting this "tumblr-esque" decompression ramble about an ultimately minor blip in the fabric of the Kirby fandom that everyone but me has already moved on from...

I *dreamt* of doing more with it. Animatics and such. Maybe spread my little Dark Matter Swordsman theory around some more...? But I was dreaming too lofty.

I got over-invested. The rush of sharing. The interactions. The likes. I truly did feel like a *novice*

...Not at art, but at the *internet*

...I put a lot of work into it. A lot of heart.

I don't know where this is going. Do I feel regret for deleting everything? Possibly. I know that at least for *that* week, I was in so much emotional distress I couldn't bear to stay.

Not like my AU would have gone further than it did though...

Thanks to Air Riders, there's actually a canonical "Noir" in Kirby now. He's cool and edgy yet sweet and pitiable - everything I tried to make my Noir out to be...

I love the new Noir but the more I see that name around, the more sad I get. My little AU was always just a fan story but...

One silly, mostly unnecessary story (that I actually thought the "someone" in question might be happy (!) to see as opposed to object to it to the degree they did ^^; ) and I destroyed years of my own precious content.

But...I don't know... Maybe it was for the best...?

This is the story led to the deletion of my tumblr, by the way! I noncon, age-gap, forced-femme'd my OC (with a side of mindbreak) in an AU to write a good end (!) lesbian romance with him and his "girl + friend" and...

...someone responded to it in a way that really hurt.

...Oops, I forgot about this place so hard that I didn't bother to delete it when I deleted my tumblr, haha. Well, too tired to do that now so I guess this place can stay as the last bastion of what the Desultory Novice account was.

Traitor Magolor EX holds a much smaller, laughing, winking Marx in his hands. His expression is torn, a glistening in his red eyes while the Master Crown sits heavy upon his head. His dark magenta cape flows around the two of them while wisps of blue flame and fragments of gold decorate their environment.

✨She looks so elegant with her hair half down! And fantastic job on the floral bits! Hydrangea sleeves!😍 Perfect for the summer season, and I can just imagine how beautiful this will look in color!

Adeleine along with Dark Matter Swordsman as a young human boy, a personalized depiction of the character that I've named "Noir." (Partly cause Adeleine's name sounded French and partly for his "identity.") He is patting her head in a gentle, brotherly way while she smiles up at him. They're depicted in cool straw tones, though Noir is significantly more in shadow than Adeleine, hinting at his emotional state.

That is, in short form, how I got in the habit of drawing Adeleine and Dark Matter Swordsman as a pair of sad orphans struggling to find hope and meaning in a desolate world

(Also because that's my favorite genre of fiction lol)

How the theory started. After seeing the way the Master Crown corrupted Magolor, especially in the true Arena, like a twisted step between himself and a generic Dark Matter, it made me wonder if Dark Matter Swordsman had originally been something or *someone* else before Kirby's first encounter with him...?

Unused (or IS IT?! /silly) settei of Dark Matter Swordsman from Dream Land 2 next to the Kirby 64 credits picture of Adeleine for comparison. Any similarities could just be that these are like, the only sketchy images we have of two of the only human-looking characters in Kirby. They've both got short, kinda spiky hair, but they don't exactly dress alike. Not that we can see DMS's body past the armor. ...Which, FWIW, is how I came up with the idea that it was the sword + armor that corrupted the Swordsman into the form we're familiar with.

DMS's depiction is honestly all over the board. The armor, and most frustratingly, the eye. Of course the Mass Attack mini game is not mainline by any means but you still have to wonder why he looks SO different there. Either way, his eye has to be either gray, white, or purple in his DL2 debut, and it's *definitely* purple in Clash. It's this weird orange mark in Robobot, but I have to think that's some byproduct of the cloning process/Star Dream else...why go out of the way to call him the "clone" if he's functionally identical?! IMO, it has to be because there is some aspect of the clone that is not identical to the original incarnation, and I think it's the eye color.

...Which leads me to Adeleine. 64 and Star Allies are the only games she's confirmed to be the same Adeleine in. So why'd they suddenly change her eye color from green to purple?! Not that I necessarily believe having purple eyes would *force* her to be tied to DMS, but that's certainly why I made them be related in my HC. Anyway, thank you for reading through all that.

That's honestly a great way to think about it. And even though the XKCD comic is hilarious (as most of them are) I agree with the idea of using that ranking as a measure of how much growth there is ahead of you...! (In a positive way ofc!)

Magolor and Marx are portrayed as a pair of acrylic charms dangling on a charm bracelet with beads that read "Magolor" "+" "Marx" However, Magolor and Marx express sadness and frustration, respectively, that their positions on the charm bracelet are not nearly as "close" as they want to be and are trying to reach out toward each other.

It really does! And I -do- enjoy the plot, light as it is! It feels almost like a callback to Adventure/NiDL. And Animal was great! Would like to see Bubble retooled in some non-DS reliant way too.
