Farm Aid 40 was such an epic show. It felt so good to be in a crowd with so many other people knowing most of us were there for the right reasons, being in community, helping those in need & having a good time. We need this more than ever right now.

Neil Young brought it at Farm Aid. One of the greatest rock n rollers of all time.

We need pundits who can do something harder (or at least very different): Learn and write about what systematic reforms are necessary (and plausible) so that we have at least two parties that consistently nominate candidates who support our constitutional system of law and universal rights.

Another concrete example: We need pundits who think about how to defend democracy *in between elections.* We simply no longer have the luxury of only thinking about winning elections and implementing good policy. One of the reasons (not the only one) is, if we don't, then elections won't be free.

This is General Sherman, the world’s most voluminous tree, estimated to weigh 1,200 metric tonnes. If Sherman were carbon, it would take 8,333,000 of them to equal annual human carbon emissions. We need to stop burning fossil fuels, planting more trees won’t fix the problem. (I like trees in the proper setting) we need to conserve our forests
